Description
We opened our doors in Brixton in mid 2013 with the aim of teaching Londoners how to make beer. We have expanded operations at this site to offer up to 30 draught lines featuring our commercially available beers, exclusive nano brews and guest beers plus a large stock of cans and bottles to take home. We remain one of the very few venues in London to stock home brewers with hops, malt and yeast.

Bottle share at Mr Smith’s Stratoflat. Thanks to Leighton. Almost clear gold beer, good cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Thin but sweetish malts, mild cream. Obvious white smoke, not too strong. Chilli kicks in and starts to burn but it never turns in to inferno. Light finish. Kinda does what it says on the tina and whilst I would not drink much of it, what I had was okay.

Bottle share at Mr Smith’s Stratoflat. Big thanks to LKS for the IIPA tick! Hazy amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry with decent fine carbonation. Good creamy malts with a touch of caramel. Good piney hops, some hop skunk and hop spice. Mild marmalade. Trace of tropical fruits in the light spicy finish. Nice one!

Bottle share at Mr Smith’s Stratoflat. Cheers to our sausagemeister for this. Light haze on this pale gold beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is light and airy and had mild fine carbonation. Thin malts. Tangy wishy washy citrus. A little vinegar, white wine vinegar perhaps. Not too much cinnamon. Light semi dry finish. It stumbles, it falls ........

Bottle from London Beer Lab. It’s a hazy golden-amber beer with a negligible white head and a lively sparkle. Up front there’s a little of the banana that I always associate with Belgian yeast, and some Leffè-like honey roast ham. So far so Belgian, but suddenly there’s a burst of spring meadow freshness- grass, flowers and herbs- and the beer comes to life, becoming surprisingly vibrant. It finishes with rather sweet and sticky lemon sherbet and some light dryness. An interesting take on the style; I rather enjoyed it.

Bottle at home in London - picked up from the Lab. Pours clear gold, lightly effervescent, with a creamy white head. Tangy citrus fruits in the aroma, underscored with bready pale malts. Light sweet flavor with more simple, pale bread, some lemony tartness, maybe a trace of bitter grapefruit, a little straw. Light in body with average carbonation. Relatively clean on the finish, with further tart citrus fruits, bready malts, faint pith, hay, some grains. A little bland, but not bad. There’s really not much grapefruit expression here.

Bottle split at LKS, thanks to the host with the most, 03/09/15. Lightly hazed amber with a decent beige cap. Nose is caramel malt forward, earthy hop presence, candied fruit peel, spice, biscuit crumble. Taste comprises bitter tropicana, cheesecake base, caramel, light spice, red grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with earthy hop bitterness. Ok DIPA, ticks the boxes for the style.

Bottle shared in London - picked up at the Lab. Some ash in the nose, citrus rind, minerals. Light sweet flavor with more dry ash, some smokey chili peppers, pale bread, hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more odd ash, pale bread, moderate chili burn. Not terribly cohesive.
