Birthday Cake is a decadent Sweet Tart Ale brewed to imperial strength to celebrate our 3 Year Anniversary here at Source Brewing.
This tasty pastry sour was brewed with pilsner and wheat malts along with milk sugar then fermented with a special, lactic acid producing yeast strain.
Post fermentation the beer was conditioned on heaps of Ghanaian cacao nibs, strawberries, and Madagascar vanilla beans.
Birthday Cake pours a pinkish-red hue into a glass and radiates aromas of rich chocolate, sweet and tangy strawberry, and creamy vanilla.
The rich, chocolately flavors are met and balanced by bright, zingy, lactic acidity, resulting in a refreshingly tart, fruity finish.
We get notes of dark chocolate covered strawberry, strawberry Fanta float, and rich chocolate cake smothered in creamy vanilla icing topped with fresh strawberries.
