Bottle shared at Chrisso’s May 2014 tasting 25/05/2014. Hazed bright orange / light amber coloured pour with a loose white head. Aroma is berry, fruity esters, grainy and light caramel. Flavour is composed of tangy berry fruits, candied orang, caramel and light citric acid. Warming alcohol in the finish. Palate is sweet , tangy sweet fruits, full bodied. Some grain tanin.

Keg. Leeds IBF. Lost my notes on this, which is a bugger, as I’m the first to rate it. However, I recall it being murky, dark brown. Bubbly, lasting, tan head. Lots of nutty, chocolatey maltiness, offset by piny, grapefruit bitterness. Taste was roast bitter. Smooth palate. Nutty, bitter finish. Good.

Keg at Leeds Int. BF. Dark, reddy brown. Tight, tan head. Vine fruits. Piny bitterness. Taste is fruity dry, with the bitterness in the background. Ashy, dry palate. Light bitter finish.

Keg at Leeds Int. BF. Cloudy yellow. Sticky, white head. Soft, herby clove and banana. Taste is woody dry, with a herby, thyme thing going on. Pithy bitter, too. Dry, dusty palate. Finishes woody dry. Unusual, really.

Bottle shared at chriso’s May 2014 tasting - London. Pours lightly hazy orange-gold with a frothy, white head. The aroma holds ripe orange, tangy pale wood, light spices. Medium sweet flavor, lightly bitter, with some apples, caramel, golden raisins and grass. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Tangy wood on the finish, some further apple notes, tannic fruit skins. So so.

Bottle thanks to Simon at 20MR, 14/08/14. Black with a good sized tan head. Nose is roast malt, a good dose of chocolate, liqourice, dark toffee fudge, light smoke. Taste comprises smokey tones, more than on the nose, roast malt, chocolate. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, roasty drying close. Decent smoked porter.

500ml bottle. Black-brown colour with a reddish tinge, foamy beige head and aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark fruity, nutty. Taste is peaty smokey, roasted malt, sweetish, chocolate, biscuit, dark fruity, some lingering coffee & bitterness. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, boozy smokey roasted finish. Quite drinkable.

Bottle [from trade with minutemat] @ home. Clear golden color, medium sized white head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma of malts, hops, a hint of resin and spruce. Taste malts, hops, bitter hops, lightly resin, moderate to heavy bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Nice.

330ml bottle from Beer Huis, Ossett - Hazy copper coloured body with a white foamy head. Aroma of resin, grass and some floral notes. Flavour of rich floral hops, strong resin, kiwi, mango and kumquat. Rather syrupy in the mouthfeel, overall not too bad.
