Bouteille 75cl partagée avec toute l'équipe de El Birrot, Jafre lors de notre dégustation de début d'année 2024. Etiquette de 2009 pour la version 37.5cl mais qui je pense est une version ultérieure vers 2012. Bouteille que je pense avoir acheté chez BeerPlanet à Bxl.
Superbe bière pour l'age avec un pourpre profond et un col encore actif finement rosé foncée et retombant doucement.
Arôme chargé en effluves fruités dont la cerise garde encore toute sa prestance. C'est fin, raffiné sans trop verser dans ce côté vinaigre d'une bière passée de date.
Une très belle surprise
Palais reste très bien axé sur la cerise qui reste encore très présente et complexe sans jamais apporter d'acidité de son âge. Juste une note de funk de la base.

Vintage 2016. Hazy red, no head. Intense aroma of cherry flesh, cherry juice & cherry pit, cake, almond, dough, cheese, wet wood, vanilla, fermenting red apple, vague rosemary. Taste has sour cherry, blackcurrant and nectarine in a sour-creamy, sourdough-like and slightly sweetish almondy malt body with lemony edges; somewhat herbal, oaky. Very tart, mouth-puckering finish, offerings lots of cherry flesh & pit, lactic acid, funky balsamic vinegar and 'wet' woody tannins. Medium body, oily-vinous texture, flat carbonation. Intense, next-level Kriek profile with a profound taste.

Murky, apricotty appearance and it smells quite a bit like apricot. On the palate, a good balance between apricot and rhubarb. Mild tartness, a bit of horse. It's fairly fizzy, and that seems to bring out sweetness, especially in the apricot. Also maybe reduces the impact of the base lambic, though.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a large, quickly-dissipating white head. Aroma is full of big earthy rhubarb, a touch of apricot, and a touch of funk. Flavour is very earthy, with lots of earthy, soil-y rhubarb, a touch of apricot (light acidity), and a hint of funk. Frothy, milky palate, with lots of earthiness. Truly bizarre stuff. Hard to imagine this now tastes as intended. It's fine, but nothing special.

2017 iteration, 750 ml bottle. Pours light hazed red/pink with a beige foam with link tinges. Incredibly sharp, moderate funk, deep raspberry, also some cherry, earthy, balsamic hints, oaky, a little of that almondy cherry pit vibe going on, super dry on the palate. Medium body with spritzy carbonation. Too sharp & acidic, some like that way, but it's not for me.
