Appearance: thick dark brown in color with a thin cap of a khaki foamy head which slid off into oblivion, no lace
Aroma: lovely smoked malts, sly chocolate smooth qualities, slight meaty ham tones, sweet campfire woodiness, brisk earthy underneath
Flavor: wraps up all the prior noted aromas for a stellar sweetness, super quick aftertaste of smoke and ham
Texture: between light and medium bodied, between sessionable and being a sipper, clean smooth feels on the tongue; finishes clean and smoky with a touch of dry
Overall: normally, I don't mind the ash/char I usually find in this style but pretty amazed that this one by HF did not have that and it was one daggum awesome beer!

Appearance: rugged bronzed thick orange color with a finger's worth of white foamy head. Once it dissipated, there wasn't any lace
Aroma: grapefruit, passion fruit, sweet earthiness, lemon, subtle lime, and sweet grass
Flavor: fully blends all the prior mentioned aromas together brightly and bittersweet, super mild aftertaste and seemed somewhat like passion fruit and lemon
Texture: light to medium bodied, leaning more towards being a sipper, mild finish of dry lemons, limes and sweet earth
Overall: a very nicely done AIPA hitting all the spots of so many different fruits. More than worthy of returning to.

Appearance: rugged burnt orange color, a bar pour's cap of a little white foamy head, no lace.
Aroma: orange/lemon/floral/tropical fruity hop notes to blend with some passion fruity/grapefruity/white wine-like hops and earthy hop tones all mixing it up boot
Flavor: blended all of those prior mentioned aromas bittersweetly, no aftertaste
Texture: light to medium bodied, slightly sessionable, some smoothness, finishes semi-crisp with a touch of dryness
Overall: a very nicely done AIPA more than worthy of returning to.

Flavor: wraps up all the prior noted aromas to blend malty smooth sweet and clean then moves into a brisk aftertaste of nuts, roast and clean earthiness
Texture: light to medium bodied, great sessionability, very smooth along my tongue, finishes semi-crisp and nutty

Bottle: pours mahogany with beige head. Cognac, vanilla, woody. Taste is sweet, not really boozy, kind of like cake. Great aftertaste. Not super sweet. Cognac is a nice touch.

2025 375mL bottle drunk 1/12/26, as pictured.
Very barrel-forward nose full of luscious, juicy, rich port character. Big, juicy grapey vinousness but not too much acid/tannin. Chocolate and nuttiness behind with evident bready, lightly roasty malts. No alcohol or flaw noted.
Wow, that is significantly better than the nose, and the nose was quite nice! Much maltier than the aroma, and with good effect, creating a rich, supple, comforting texture with low but ample roast and moderate chocolate character. Juicy, poignant port character is rich and intensely flavorful, but doesn't outmatch the body/malt. No alcohol noted. Just phenomenally flavorful stuff with all sorts of wood/port complexity, but yet still low enough in abv and sweetness to be surprisingly drinkable. This will be great for many years to come.

Batch 6 magnum shared by Adam on 7/25/15, with some really enjoyable kid rock playing in the background....sigh.
Just a crazy stupendously perfect appearance. Lightly hazy brass with just huge, dense, well-retained, white head atop.
Mossy, very earthy plant-like character in the nose is complemented by sulfur/poop-like yeast/bacteria notes that are quite enjoyable. Very nice and restrained on the barrels, no huge wine character and not a ton of tannin dullness. Love the stinky, funky nose and the beer seems very appropriately named. No alcohol or flaws.
Soft, gentle floral notes and cornflower-like delicateness creeping in between the moderate acids and light maltiness. Lilacs, mangoes, pineapple, honeyed maltiness and some dry, grainy wheat character. Nice balance on the sweetness/dryness and a fairly thick body. In that sense, the "thickness" or "fullness" from the wheat, the extra body or chewiness from the barrel tannin and the creamy-full texture from the carbonation don’t really go together, I don’t think, but it’s still awesomely flavorful and it’s ok that it drinks a bit bigger than it actually is.
Well, I guess I’m officially in the Hill Farmstead superfan club, but then, I’ve always thought very highly of Shaun’s brewing (see my reviews for his saisons from his days at the Shed, if you care). These "saisons" are awesome, regardless of how you feel about style guidelines and what is a "true saison". I’m not afraid to admit how good they are and jump on the bandwagon with my high reviews. They really were almost unanimously awesome. Adam aging them in a cool cellar for a year via a magnum (which reduces oxidation) certainly didn’t hurt either.

With some more time to develop, this has developed more funk, mineral and even sulfur. It’s qute sublime, not overly sour, and still shows plentiful body/texture for 18 months of age. I love the Flora series in all its iterations and the base beer is no exception. Upping the score a bit. Rating is for this experience.

Bottled, huge thanks Brandt for sharing with Adam V, Zhenya and me! Misty brown body, no head. Vaguely sourish aroma, caramelly, nutty, vanilla, berries. Lean, dry, taste, blackberry-driven, smooth, low caramel, but so dried out... Huuuh... Fun but, what is it?!?
