Description
Hill Farmstead Brewery is the culmination of many years of travel and insight—of experience and education—of friendships and explorations. The brewery is the revival and continuation of 220 years of Hill heritage and hand crafted history in North Greensboro, Vermont. Its logo is retrieved from a sign that once hung in Aaron Hill's (our great(x3) grandfather) tavern, just up the hill, in the early 1800s.

Growler pours a transparent, bright orange with some spitty white head. Great color, OK head retention. Nose is dank hops, resinous, peachy, candied orange, oily American hops, grapefruit zest, vinous fruit, honey, flower pollen. Flavor is strong pine, sweet, honey, grapefruit, orange zest, lemons, some corn sugar, a touch peppery, nectarine. Full bodied, touch hot with some bracing bitterness. Very nice. Could probably use a touch less bitterness and a little more sweetness to round things out.

Draught@Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Black as night with a small tan head. Aroma was sweetish with traces of roast ,coffee and oatmeal. Fairly lively carbonation and thickish mouthfeel. Flavour was similar with the addition of some dark chocolate and barrel notes. Also detected an almost peaty, earthy quality. Hoppage crept into play towards the close of the swig to leave a bitter finish. Tasty and enjoyable stuff.
