500ml. Pours dark orange with a small head. Aroma is sweet ginger, and lots of it! Ginger on the taste, but was expecting a bit more ginger to be honest. Good brew none the less.

75cl bottle from Beer Merchants. An absolute bugger to get open due to the wax seal around the cork, there’s obviously an art to prising it off without some sort of cut finger mishap! Tried to contain this beast but the sediment still burst forth out of the bottle and into my glass. Cloudy brown pour with no head. Aromas of ripe plums, raisins, gooseberries, damsons. Very nice. Flavours of treacle toffee, malts, nuts, barley sugars. Reminds me of Stone’s ’Double Bastard’ brew but with slightly more balls. Extremely vinous stuff. Fierce alcohol burn. Improves with every sip. Noble brew, it demands respect.
