500ml Bottle (GBBF 2010) - Amber in colour. Ginger features predominantly in the aroma. The taste is spicy and warming with notes of ginger, hops and dried fruit. Doesn’t taste as strong as 6%. The ginger is very noticeable in both the aroma and taste, but is very enjoyable.

Bottle from Rainhall Drinks, Accrington. Poured a lively super murky lightish brown colour with a big, dissipating yet lingering soiled white head. Nose had some nice berry fruit lurking with a hint of spice. Picked up more of the same in the flavour which was quite earthy with notes of caramel, yeast and malts The hops made their presence felt largely towards the finish, and the bitterness which emerged therein was really very good .Top notch stuff, and a really great example of a style which is so often underwhelming.

Bottle at ChrisO "I’m Trying to see the Stool" pre GBBF2010 tasting. Raspberry herb aroma. Bit of funk. Made with Oud Beersel lambic. Not sure the Decadence base beer and fruit works together that well. Prefer to have the straight Decadence which is a tremendous beer.

Cask at the Wenlock on 18th August 2010. Amber, slightly hazy body and a thin white foamhead. Earthy pungency and hops in aroma, richly hoppy main kick rounded by biscuit maltiness. Dry finish which is richly bitter, herby and grassy. Zingy texture. Excellent.

31st July 2010. ChrisOs Pre GBBF - ’Raise The Roof’ tasting. Cery dark brown beer. Light tan head. Sourish fruit - tart raspberry sitting ill at ease in the darkish malt background. Doesn’t quite gel for me.
