Craft Clerkenwell. Cask. Hazy amber beer, small bubbly pale cream colourded head. Palate is smooth with good fine carbonation. Semi dry. Hop spice and floralness kick off. An odd minty marmalade follows. Bubblegum ester underneath. Finishes smooth and dry. Mild bitter linger. Strange beast! 3.1

Craft near Tottenham Court Road war zone. Keg. Hazy red - amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is smooth and airy. Mild fine carbonation. Airy malts bring creamy sweetness. A herby floral zing with spicy lemongrass and something else, Jasmine? Mild citric peel fruits and bitterness. Finishes smooth and herbal - floral. Mild citric bitter linger. Interesting and drinkable and better on keg!

(Cask at Craft Beer Clerkenwell, London, 8 Apr 2014) Reddish brown colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and aromas of pine needles. Malty, roasted, hoppy taste with coffee, pine needles, dark chocolate, hints of mint and a generous piney bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with balanced bitterness. Solid and well made black IPA (not really black though). Very nice.

Cask at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours clear, mostly clear amber-gold with a frothy, off-white foam head. The nose has lots of spicy ginger, nips of grainy rye, bready malts, faint Belgian yeast character. Medium sweet flavor with further gingery twang, some bitter grain husk, orange rind, faint esters. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; pretty good condition. Moderate sticky malt sugars to finish with more spicy rye and ginger, bitter grains and citrus rind, hints of gummy Belgian yeast. Interesting. OK.

Cask at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours clear yellow-gold with a fine, frothy white head. The nose holds some crispy pale malts and lightly dried grass. Light-medium sweet flavor with somewhat aggressive, grassy bitterness, lightly bready pale malts, some ripening lemon, citrus rind, hay. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Reasonably well balanced to finish as the palate gets used to the rather intense, bitter grass, more crispy pale malts, dirty hay. Fair, just a bit out of balance.

Cask at Craft Clerkenwell. It pours clear golden amber with a small white head. The nose is biscuit, pissy hops, wood, citrus peel and a touch of sweetness. The taste is firmly bitter, earth, peppery grapefruit, lemon rind, pine, urine and grassy notes with a lingering dry-bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Crisp and bitter. A very respectable cask apa.
