Bottle. Clear ruby-amber coloured, small persistent off-white layer. Medium to solid toasty and fruity - raisins - nose. Moderate sweet-bitter flavour, astonishingly "full" bodied for a beer of 4.5%, soft MF. Lingering fruity-malty finish with a tinge of cacao-powder and lemony hoppy touch in the aftertaste. Good and pleasant............

Yhis IPA poured a nice deep copper colour with a rocky, white head. To the nose there are scents of hopps, citrus, juniper and grass. First taste is smooth and a little watery on the finish. Malty taste at first developing to a slight hopp bitterness thats more sweet than bitter. Finish is malty with flavours of juniper and hopps lingering.

[Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading.] Gold with a dense white head that leaves good lacing; smooth and creamy, slightly sour and dry, then some sweet malts and a light dry spicy finish. Restrained and rather elegant.
