Big 660ml bottle at Blå Rock Cafe while watching TIL-Brann on TV and eating a well made tuna salad called Waterboys. Clear mahogany topped with a fast diminishing foam. Weak hoppy aroma. Flavour with a good touch of caramel. Malty texture. Watery palate. Light, but nice bitter finish. Alright as a partner to the salad and the match.

Bottled. Deep mahogani color with a nice beige head. No carbonation. Sweet aroma with prunes and raisins, some vanilla, and a hint of alcohol in the background. It has a rich, sweet, fruity-bitter and caramelized flavor, that finishes of lightly dry and bitter. Medium, sweet body. Unfortunately, the flavor don’t follow up the promising aroma. Rating: 7-4-6-4-15-3.6. 060430
Bottle. As my first encounter with this beer was from before the sterile filtering started, I thought I should have another try. Looking more or less the same it seems, deep mahogany color, clear, and with a beige head of moderate size. Lots of dried fruits on the nose, raisins and prunes, with caramel tending towards toffee, some roasted hints and a piney hop note. It still has that rich, sweet flavor, but it’s dried than I remembered it to be, no vanilla is detected, but there’s a fine bitterness to go with the dried fruits and toffee. Lasting finish. Well, it’s still a fine brew, that’s for sure, but you gotta love toffee and dried fruits to love this beer. Adjusted my score slightly, but left the total score, even though I’d like more complexity, and I’d like the oak to play a part too. Which I don’t think it does. 141120

Can. Still, golden beer, with a beige head. It has a citric, apples-like aroma. The flavor is lightly citric, with some caramel and some fruitiness. A thin body and a mellow mouthfeel typical to the nitro-can beers. Session beer. Rating: 5-4-5-3-10-2.7. (060428)
Can. Pours a non-carbonating clear golden body under an off-white steady head of low height. Toffee-ish nose with some green apples. Sweetish with a little sourness too. Thin, smooth mouthfeel with flavors of caramel, bitterness, some sourness and a little metal getting more evident in the finish. Not impressive at all, but sure drinkable. (080704)

750ml bottle. Light, golden colour. Aroma is caramel with a gentle touch of hops. Not much flavours, quite sweet with a hint of hop. Very smooth but ending up as another boring industrial beer.

(Cask at Lord Clyde, Borough, London 23 Apr 2006) Colour is dark amber to copper. Nose is malty and fruity with hints of oranges and mandarin. Taste is mainly malty, almost bready, with hints of nuts and caramel. Somewhat thin, but still fairly enjoyable and easy to drink.
