Cask@O’Connells, Tampere. Very dark brown color, creamy off-white head. Malty aroma with some molasses. Very mild (watery), roasted-sweet flavor. Smokey-bready aftertaste. Ok, but a bit too light even for session beer.

Found this beer at a street bar - Chalaraa - in Platanias, Crete. 500ml bottle. Dark Mahogany. Creamy beige head. Spicy aroma. Flavour of burnt caramel. Has a distinctive sourish and yeasty texture. Good, but not great (02.06.2006).

Didn’t care for this one. Color was golden, head was ample and white. Too thin bodied for a cream ale, too bitter for the irish ale variety. No real maltiness - just that sour/bitter taste for a cheap ale.

Light amber with carbonation that goes to the bottom of the glass and slowly rises to form a medium pale yellow head. Aroma of hops and caramel with citrus notes. Malty-citrus flavor, but not enough bitterness in the finish, however more appears as it warms.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury. I really tried to be open minded with this, but this really is pants. Plasticine hop aroma, that improves somewhat in the mouth, but it lacks flavour. It has the hallmarks of the lower strength IPA, but souped up a bit. Hop bite on end is attractive. Thinnish in mouth. Some rose petal fruit on aroma. Some nutty malt. If it wasn’t for the hop bite on the end, then this would be very dull. I had this with Asahi lager, Badger First Gold and Fullers 1845 and this was the worst of the bunch.

Cask handpull at Folkestone Wetherspoons. Copper colour, thin off white head. Some hop/yeast aroma. Fruits in mouth are alright, rose/pear drop, dusty finish. Better than in bottle. OK hop on end. Not too much going on though

Bottle from Sainsburys Kidlington 18-05-06. Amber coloured, a more interesting and complex beer than the standard IPA and it actually differs quite markedly from the orginal IPA. I thought that this was a reasonable stab but still not as hoppy as I’d like still quite refreshing but possibly a bit sweeter than I expected.
