Half pint handpulled on cask at The Six Bells in St Albans. Clear amber in colour with a white foamy layer leaving firm lacing on the glass. Malty base in aroma with some dark fruits. The same goes for the taste - smooth malt and dried fruits. Short bitterness in the ending. Very ordinary English bitter and this version was not that well kept at the pub - not fresh enough (29.09.2006).

Half pint on cask. Served much too chilled. Some sweetness in flavour. Roasted malted water. Not so far away from coca-cola in colour, aroma and flavour. Hard to discern any mild ale taste and mouthfeel at all (Trafford Arms, Norwich 24.09.2006).

Can: See through nut brown with no head. Watery body. Little carbonation. Malty sweetness. Ok pleasant but nothing exciting. In all ways a typical British ale.
