In 1965, Lacons were taken over by a Whitbread who closed Lacons down in 1968. Subsequently reclaimed independence in 2013 and started brewing again.

Early on, beers were produced under a number of names, including Courtyard and Wilbur Wood. Launched under the Lacon's Name in May 2013.

Based in Norfolk, Lacons Brewery is home to Lacons Encore, the award-winning amber beer. Our brewing team is committed to using the highest quality Norfolk malt along with the original Lacons yeasts. 24th Aug 2018; gravity poured half-pint at the 22nd Codsall Station Beer Festival. Really enjoyed this light amber ale with it's thin wispy topping. Nothing stood out in the aroma or tatse, it just felt right, lovely balance to it, a perfect English Bitter, not too sweet, not too bitter and NO CITRUS flavours!
