2016 bottle. Dark brown, small beige head. Dried fruit, malt, wood and a little dark sugar and chocolate in the aroma. Boozy with light yeasty notes too. Caramely flavour, dried fruit and nice boozy warmth. Very light notes of sweet orange in the finish.

330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Pours a misty gold, frothy white head. Aroma is fresh, floral, fruity, pineapple. Taste is similarly fresh, fruity sweet, prominent pineapple chunks, smooth, a touch creamy, light spice, low bitterness. Well rounded, fruity sweet IPA.

this label could be mistaken for the quadrupel, beware. clear brown, smooth light brown creamy head. mild aroma of coffee bisquits, caramel and nuts. quite complex but also quite mild. nowhere near 10% alc. indicated in the aroma. flavor is cofee, toffee, sweet nuts (macadema for instance) sweet dark dried fruits and some alc. burn towards the end, but no alcohol taste. also brown sugar, perhaps also rye. a very complex quad and if you think beer can be more than malts, yeasts and hops, you will like this one, where the flavor also builds on chestnuts and coffee and perhaps also other stuff they added in. In some ways it reminds me of how westvleteren 12 tasted in 2009 before it started to get produced in larger quantities and (to me) get a more industrial "plain" flavor.

Bottle. Orange pour. Aroma of smoke, tea, malt, yeast and bacon. Taste has smooth smoke, yeast ester, bitter tea, caramel and some orange. Tea and smoke works really well, nice beer.

One of Vliegende Paard's experimental fruit and vegetable beers, this one with watermelon; steini bottle at Kantien in Ghent, shared by Goedele. Moussy, snow white, irregularly lacing, slowly dissipating head over a misty pinkish-tinged golden blonde beer. Aroma of sweet watermelon indeed, unripe green melon too, lime flesh, feta, yoghurt, sourdough, cucumber, chalk, soap, fresh fig juice, gooseberries. Fruity, crisp onset, very refreshing with recognizable watermelon flavour, hints of lime and pear as well, some orange-like freshness, fizzy, sharp carbonation, slick body, tad soapy. Wheaty soapiness continues in the middle with cristalline mineral effects from the carb, lingering fruit sweet-and-sourishness but in a delicate, very refreshing way, crisp and cucumber-like; grassy hop bitterish touch, very lightly so, light chalky note in the end. Hyper-elegant, crisp, refreshing little fruit beer, bright and clean like the others Préaris has produced on a similar basis - accessible but different and original. Liked it.
