On tap at Vice et Versa, pours a very dark amber brown with a small tan head. Aroma is characterized by cocoa powder, with some secondary charcoal notes. Flavour is very stale and coal-like, with week-old stale coffee that pretty much dominates, a bit of muffled coal notes on the finish. Quite poor, with no real depth or pleasant subtleties.

On tap at Vice et Versa, pours a fairly clear yellow with a small white head. Aroma is some what rustic, with subtle white wine notes, some apple zest and mild yeast. Flavour is very unusual for a saison, with a mix of green apples and white wine notes, very low yeast content and none of the traditional rustic, dry qualities. Nevertheless, a highly quaffable, refreshing, unique concoction here.

On tap at Vice et Versa, pours a hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is lightly (and unusually) fruity for a helles, with some citrus zest, Belgian yeast, and cereal. Flavour sort of reminds of lychee, lemon and cereal, and then shitloads of banana become extremely apparent after a few sips. Finishes banana-like and lemony. Unusual for the style - certainly not offensive. Nice and refreshing.

Bouteille 750ml.

Pours pale and cloudy. Some lacing. Aroma has some wild yeast and smoked bbq. There’s some musky sweetness and a small sour finish that leave me exhaling a wisp of smoke. I’m loving this beer- super original. On tap at volos.

Another good saison. Past month started off with a series of bad Ontario saisons and finished with trying some great Quebec stuff. Smells fruity, fermented orange juice. Wild yeast. Pours cloudy blond. Taste has some tartness. Bottle from Peluso.

IP trade in Montreal for this bottle - thanks to Patrick, drank in Apr ’12. Poured from a 341 ml bottle into a tulip glass to a slightly hazed golden colour with a medium white head. A grassy nose with yeast notes, citrus, malt an spice coming across. Taste wise bready malts, a lemony hop bitterness, honey and a yeast flavour similar to that found in a saison. Medium body and carbonation with a clean finish. Overall and enjoyable beer crisp and refreshing, almost ’helles meets saison’ !
