Description
The brewery started with the first brews in 1995 and brought the first beers to the market in 1999. The brewers work according to traditional brewing methods to produce distinctive beers from the noble raw materials of barley malt, hops, water and yeast. The quality of the products is guaranteed by modern equipment in constant evolution and systematic analyzes of every brew in the laboratories of the Abbey Notre Dame d'Orval.

Bottle sample at Essen Kerstbierfestival. Pours dark brown with a bubbly beige head. Aroma of roast, spice, caramel, raisins and fruit. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle. Deep golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is yeast, malt, bread. Flavour is yeast, malt, bread, grass, alcohol . Ordinary beer.

75 cl. bottle shared with Rick @ home, bought somewhere in Belgium. Hazy orange golden with a white head. Sweet fruity almost flowery aroma and taste, More a tripel than an Belgian strong ale in my opinion but either way a tasty beer.

Appearance: Pitch black color with a beige head. Good lacing.
Aroma: Chocolate, coffee, fruity and hoppy.
Palate: Medium to full body. Slightly sweet and a fine bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Dark malt, fruity, coffee, chocolate, hoppy and some roasted malt.
Overall impression: Outstanding stout!

(Draught at Little Delirium Café, Brussels, 26 Oct 2013) Black colour with creamy, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of black coffee, dark chocolate and cocoa. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, black rye bread and a dry finish with a generous roasty bitterness. Almost full body, quite dry. Well made and tasty stout. Excellent beer.

(Draught at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels, 25 Oct 2013) Pale golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with citrus, grass and bread. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, bread, and a fresh grassy bitterness in a dry finish. Light body, quite dry. Fresh and tasty, but quite thin and a bit short. Nice one.

(Bottle, Brasserie Lombard, Brussels, 25 Oct 2013) Hazy golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with bread, spices and dried fruit. Malty, fruity taste with notes of bread, dried fruit, bread spices and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Well made, balanced and tasty. Nice one.

(Keg at Gastropub Tuulensuu, 20131030) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, honey and perfumes. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, honey, Belgian style yeast, clove, malts and harsh bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. A bit harsh tripel but still ok.

Vacation 2013 @ Virton, Belgium. 75 cl. bottle @ the bungalow, bought @ the local Delhaize supermarket.

Hazy golden with a big white head. Hoppy fruity nose. Hoppy blonde taste with a nice bitterness. A more than decent hoppy blonde.
