Bottled. Hazy deep golden, extremely rich and firm head. Looks beautiful! Strong Belgian style yeast aroma along with flowery hops. Sweet and solidly malty, fruity with plenty of almond character. Drying out towards a finish with near eternal herbal bitterness.

Very pale yellow, slight haze; huge, yellowish & dense, persistent head. "Belgian" hops and white candi sugar; some citrus & citruspeel and VERY Flemish yeast. Sweet initial impression, followed by much citrus and quite some hops - alas, once more the ones used all too regularly here, no AmerAnzac hops. Some restsugars obvious and even more alcohol. Fruity, fusels, yeasty. Medium bodied at least, quite some slickness, alcoholburn. The story is that Hildegard fell in love with the I(²)PA’s in the USA, and set out to create one for herself. Unfortunately, she forgot to take along the right hops. This is not a double IPA, but another - quite hoppy - Belgian Strong Ale. Nowhere a bad one, but I fear we’ll have to leave the real ones to the Americans. However - the Danes succeeded already...

Bottled (BB 06/2006)
Ruby color and beautiful big cloudy tanned head. Sweet berries aroma (strawberry), some sweet yeasts (typical to these Urthel beers). Very carbonated mouthfeel. Sweetish with red currant juice flavor. Hints of hops in the aftertaste and a bit of licorice or something salty. Light (only 5,9 % alcohol here), almost I could say Belgium session beer.

Bottle, at Den Tatoverede Enke, Copenhagen. Sweet wort aroma, verging on "sickly". Malty sweet flavour too, not much to make me happy here.

(Bottle 33 cl) Amber coloured beer with a rather small head. Spicy, slightly herbal notes with a weak smoked touch. I bet some candi sugar as well. Lots of story-telling on the label. 160501

This big beer hides its alcohol strength very well. The beer is hazy and gold. The white head isvery large, rocky, and long lasting. The simple aroma is mostly of light fruit; similar to a tripel. The flavor is fruit as well, but much richer with a powerful sweet taste. No alcohol flavor at all. There was a light spice I couldn’t pick out. For a beer of this strengh there is great balance and the alcohol is hidden nicely.

Bottled at Delirium Café, Brussels, Belgium
Creamy, off-white head, which diminishes totally. Amber body. Nose of maple syrup. Medium to fullly bodied. Moderately bitter flavour. This is an excellent, well-balanced beer.

Copper brown color, white steady creamy head. Aroma is quite weak: some yeast, wood, malt and alcohol. Very full mouthfeel. Alcoholic burn is mixed with sweet fruity flavors: caramel, peach, apricot. Alcohol milds in the aftertaste to bitterish flavors. The real malt liquer! :)

Bottled (BB 06/2006)
Honey golden color, big white foamy head. Sweetish berry-like yeasty aroma. Smooth, very carbonated mouthfeel. Through the carbonation flavors appear just in the finish. Citrusy, sweet yeastyflavor with long bitterish, slightly alcoholic aftertaste. Otherwise enjoyable but too carbonated.
