Description
In August 1982, our late founder Tony Allen opened Oak Brewery on an industrial estate in Ellesmere Port. After much success, he moved nine years later to a location more central to his trading areas. Phoenix Brewery, Heywood!

Phoenix Brewery was registered in 1874, brewing directly from the Brewery tower and owning over 100 pubs in the local area. Phoenix’s history is still proudly displayed on our seven-story tower.

Building upon our strong foundations, we continue to brew Tony’s longstanding classic beers, whilst introducing innovative new brews. The team are looking forward to welcoming you to our Brewery site – soon to be open to the public for the first time in our history!

In 1996 it took the decision to trade as the name of the brewery Phoenix Brewery.

RBESG Sheffield 2009, day 3, The New Oxford, Manchester. Cask. This was amazing! Hazy red, pink head. Pure fresh mashed strawberries in aroma as well as flavour. Nice and sweet, a true smoothie. No beer flavour whatsoever. Normally that’s not good, but this was such a treat I shoved all my beer principles aside.
