Simply had to enjoy several bottles of this before and after LCRBM2 at the Kulminator. Milk acid and champagne nose, further light notes of chocolate and green mold. Cloudy orange, blanket head, some yeast chunks. Very deep flavor profile - Fruit (tropical, apples), milk chocolate. Walnuts retronasal. Solid body, slick mouthfeel. Applecider burps. Very interresting blend - quite amazing.

Bottled. Dark ruby red colour, huge beige creamy head. Aroma is roasted coffee, toffee, caramel, slightly bready and alcoholic. Flavour is toffee, alcohol, chocolate some raisins and plum. Roasted malts and coffee come in as it gets warmer, as does the alcohol. Creamy palate, a bit empty in the finish and aftertaste, but wellworth the money!

Bottled. Hazy nutbrownish yellow colour (strange mix of those) with huge off white creamy, longlasting head. Lacing beatifully. Aroma is flowers, fruits, yeast and some bready hints. Flavour is nutty, fruity, buttery, caramellish and alcoholic. Just a lovely mix, though the alcohol does mess the whole thing up a bit. But just lovely to drink, very easy-to-drink. Good session beer. And though the slight unbalance due to alcohol, just lovely! I need more of this!

Best before Mar 05. Pours deep orange into a tulip. Bread and biscuit notes. Dry bitter apple front to sour and back with a creamy lasting bitter finish. Similar to a XX.

Bottled 33cl (BB 09/2007). Hazy dark brown/yellow, lots of small floating yeast particles, good head. Crisp fruity-acidy aroma, some spices. Spicey, yeasty, not very fresh flavor. Long spicey (but mild), lightly alcoholic aftertaste.

Hazy, orange body. Off-white head. Aroma of banana and hop flavour. This really just smells like an uncomplete mixture of lambic and another beer, like there are 2 beers seperated in your glass and there’s not 1 aroma, but 2 seperate aromas. This aroma doesn’t work out very well. The flavour is quite weird too, again like an uncomplete mixture of a lambic and a top fermented beer. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour. Very interesting combination. It hides it’s alcohol very well in the flavour. But the high ABV did strike me after 15 minutes.

Hazy straw-amber with a very straight off-white head. Sugar/caramelly, leather grease and horseblanket: the theoretical perfect faro balance? Licorice, meat juice, mixed with a clean, horsey lambic; further honeyish, but very dry at the same time. Well bodied, there’s obvious alcohol, but nowhere the suggested 11% in impression. Acidburn also obvious. Very succesful combination of top-fermenting and lambic. A great piece of history returning. I somehow doubt the acclaimed ABV, sorry Mark. I’ve enclosed this with Strong Belgian ale, but this ought to be called "Imperial Faro".
