Description
The former name was brewery De Brouwketel, which was in operation at the current location at least from 1706 onwards. In 1884 the brewery became the property of the Duysters family. In 1968 the company was transformed into Duysters NV (limited liability company) which was active as a brewery until 1973.
The Loterbol brewpub started in 1995 in a renovated part of the brewery from the 18th century. in 2002 brewing started in the old brewery building of 1908. Both locations are still used for brewing.

Like rolling around in the hay eating crisp apple pie. Fresh flowers. Distinctively light bodied and drinkable for the weight. Sourness is muted. Certainly not hardcore and was a party favorite even amongst non-beer drinkers. This lead the beer to being stolen. Oh well these things happen.

Bottled. A clear amber beer with a huge, but collapsing beige head. The aroma is lovely acidic, combined with notes of brettanomyces and horseblanket. While the flavor is acidic with notes of malt, grapefruit, brettanomyces, yeast, horseblanket and wood. Nice mix.

(Cold) hazy, dark red beer with medium, pink-coloured headd. Fresh cherry juice nose, some faraway wood (served terribly cold), and more than in the taste, alcohol. Sharpish cherry flavour, bit of cinnamon retronasal. Virtually no sweetness, sharp but not agressive acids Apart from the obvious cherry flavours, I detect some flavour as from red beets, strangely. Rather light body, acids helping; lipsmacking tartnes; Good kriek, not overly assertive, but very satisfying. Like it.

Aroma has fruit and yeast. Pleasant dry flavor, one of the driest tripels I have tasted. Cloudy, almost white color, like a wit. Finishes with spices. Surprisingly complex with the spices, a good beer.

Cloudy orange color, short head. Aroma of 3 fonteinen gueuze with the horseblanket, added with some apple of the blond beer combined with alcohol. The gueuze is overwhelming though. Taste of apple cider, slight tart, quite sweet. In taste it’s more the blond which is dominating. Ends quite dry.

A cloudy amber ale with a thick creamy off white head, ith light floaties. Aroma of spices, thyme, coriander and fruits. In mouth, a tingly mouthfeel is noticed, with crisp dry sharp malt, herbal qualities, astringent, lots of alcohol for the style. Very yeasty. Bieropholie private imports, BB 30-12-2009.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm) Pale yellow colour, slightly hazy, with firm white head, leaving lots of lacing. Malty, fresh and spicy nose with lots of grassy hops. Malty taste with initial notes of tropical fruit and lemon, replaced by impressive amounts of grassy, slightly lemony hops. Long, dry finish with a fresh, citrussy bitterness. Very nice beer, leaning in the direction of De Ranke’s XX Bitter. Tasty, hoppy and fresh.

Golden color; huge thick head. Aroma of malt, with some coriander, and light fruity touch. The flavor is quite ordinary, with a light malt taste and some coriander. Not bitter enough. Easy Ale.
