Description
The former name was brewery De Brouwketel, which was in operation at the current location at least from 1706 onwards. In 1884 the brewery became the property of the Duysters family. In 1968 the company was transformed into Duysters NV (limited liability company) which was active as a brewery until 1973.
The Loterbol brewpub started in 1995 in a renovated part of the brewery from the 18th century. in 2002 brewing started in the old brewery building of 1908. Both locations are still used for brewing.

Cloudy blond color; fine perlage; big creamy head. Very strange aroma, perfumy, soapy, mushrooms, coriander. Quite good dry and spicy malt taste, soft, with a very good Belgian hopping, leading to a dry and bitter final, with a touch of spices and cellar. Very good and some originality.

2018-02-14, synthetic cork, vintage 2006, 12 years old, 8-4-8-4-16=40
Cloudy dull amber color with no head. Intense aroma, sour, barnyard, malt, fruity esters. Moderately sweet, moderately sour, mildly astringent, wood.
Amazingly good after 12 years.
2006-12-12, 37,5cl bottle; my first beer bottle with syntetic cork, 9-4-8-4-17=42
Cloudy light amber color; poor head retention, fizzy, but then some little cloggy islands of foam are assembling, on the surface.
Very strong Lambic aroma, with citrus fruits, some grapefruit, cellar; sour; round, complete, lasting.
Medium body strength, the flavor is dominated by a typical Gueuze imprint, but with some added maltiness; the Tripel is more evident when the beer is warmer; very strong sourness and some fruitness (citrus fruits, apple, grapefruit, light pink grapefruit), with a touch of astringency.
The final is strong, long, with robust lambic character, more bitter than usual, and finally it's easier to detect a warming high alcohol.
Impressive, original, excellent.

A lightly hazed golden ale with a thin big bubbled white head. Surprising aroma of lambic, sour apples, light barnyard, cherries, pleasant and enticing. In mouth, a surprising fresh lambic taste, with sourish apples, puckering, sweet malts, lactic acids. Rather light and the 11% alcohol does not show...may be treatourous! Bieropholie private imports. Bottled in 2006.

Bottle Yellow to amber, clear body. Rocky, off-white head. Fruity (oranges) aroma but not intense, some honey too. Lightly bitter, somewhat alcoholic flavour. Very plain flavour and a little bit astringent. Not very interesting.

Bottle, 7%. Fruity, vinous raisin aroma. Clear dark copper/red colour. Small head. The flavour is somehow roasted, a bit as if the grain has been completely drained of every last drop of starch. Slightly sweet and quite vinous. Ending with a sweet fruitiness.
