Von Fass at the Frankfurt Apfelwein Festival 2018. Shiny deep golden color, hazy. Dry apple nose. Flavor is sweet apples goinig straight to dryness. Very fruity, at least, if not exactly sweet. Sour edge. Very interestingly fruity for the style.

6/8/2018. Bottle from tegut..., Frankfurt. Pours clear pale gold with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramelised apples, vaguely herbal and spicy, and different to the other big bottle apfelweins ive tried here. Moderate sweetness and tartness. Light body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Very dry, acidic, tart finish which gives way to a longer lasting light apple sweetness. Quite drinkable.

Bottle pour at L. Thal in Sachsenhausen. Seem,ed a bit aged. Golden-orange color, clear. Nose of pears, butter, caramel, soft and lovely. Light and soft, stewed pears, light honey and caramel, slightrly tannic finish. Not sure how mine might have differed from the earlier ratings—probably well cellar-aged, but this was very nice.

1/8/2018. Bottle from Tegut, Frankfurt. Pours clear golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of medium sweet apples, hint of biscuit, and a little citrus acidity. Medium sweetness with moderate bitterness and a touch of sour. Moderate body, oily texture, average carbonation. A little tartness to finish. Quite drinkable and easily the best of today's Frankfurt cidery offerings from tegut...

0,5 flaske fra lønningskontoret i Verksgata, delt med skibsrederen under dagens båtpuss: klar gylden med kort bruseskum. deilig, moden eplearoma og -smak med litt kanel og et forsiktig streif av vanilje. Rund, passe eplesyrlig og forfriskende drikke i sydenvarmen på fordekket, om enn noe endimensjonal.

330 ml bottle. Clear pale golden, no head. Green apple, some apple vinnegar, dry sparkling wine. Dry sourness. Light bodied, watery texture, soft carbonated, dry sour finish, refreshing. Okay Apfelwein.
