Cask condition, handpull at Wenlock Arms. Leaparsons has stolen my interesting fact about this being named after a form of tennis which has a Greek name, which we were told about at the pub. Copper coloured bitter with bubbly off white head. Bit of citrus with some bitterness. Pretty good citrus actually. Nice enogh bitter.

Cask conditioned gravity dispense at Merton Winter Beer Festival 17-02-07. I was expecting a darker looking beer but it actually poured looking more warm golden , tasted much smoother than I expected and nothing like the 10% monster that it was, yes there was a sticky sweetness to it but overall it was dangerously drinkable and at the end of the Saturday night I found myself quite easily slipping one of these down.

Cask. Half pint at The Penderels Oak, Holborn. Golden body. Missing head. Citric aroma. Hoppy flavour with hints of sweet marmalade. Woody impression. Flat and dry bitterness in the finish. Not memorable (04.02.2007).

Cask pull at The Map Room, Chicago. Brassy brown color with a thin but bubbly head. The smell betrays little of whatever is concealed within, just a thin (that word again) hint of crystal malt. The taste tells all, however. The fruitiness of a nice long warm ferment, some caramel malt with a bit of toffees, apples and grapes. A warm alky burn that’s somehow gentle at the same time. Some pretense of sherry, back by floral or fuity hops. Difficult for the novice, but fascinating to beer geekdom.

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2007. Chestnut colour. Thin white head. Very good ESB. Goodish hop/malt/yeast aroma. Decent beer without being too exciting.

500ml bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Hazy mid brown colour with lasting beige head. Good fruits and malt aroma. Dry malts in mouth, earthy hops throughout. Quite toffeeish. Some grapefruit. Rounded in mouth. Quite lovely hop on end. Quite a good toffee hop mix. Been looking for this for some time and I love the label. A little disappointed, expected more hop maybe.

Strange name for a beer. Sour aroma that includes some wheat as well as citrus and yeast. Cloudy yellow color with a moderate head. Flavor has more sourness. Low carbonation. One of the better aromas I have had in some time.

Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Dark amber. Fruity nose. Sweet and richly malty with restrained hops, some plums and rather clean mouthfeel. Mild, yet warming with notes of butter. The finish is surprisingly bitter. A beer perfectly suitable for sipping bh the fireside.

Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Copper colour Aroma of pears and hay. Dryish with well rounded caramelly malt character. Sweter finish with cranberries and salt. Solid and full flavoured.
