A cask pint in the lovely Wetherspoons on Chancery Lane, London: The Knight’s Templar on 12th Nov 2016. The weather outside was more rain dodger than sun dancer but it was the only cask ale I had never had before on offer so went for it. Golden pour, white head, clear and clean looking body. Mild citrus leanings in both the aroma and flavour: so not really my thing. Refreshing enough, but a summer’s day beer, not an Autumn one. At least there was some malt action in the taste, so not all bad.

Cask 1/3 pint, gravity dispense, at the 16th Twickenham Beer & Cider Festival, Copper to brown colour. Moderate fruity and earthy hops in the aroma, hints of over-ripe redcurrants. The flavour has also some currant fruitiness, and decent herbal / spicy and earthy hops throughout.

Cask at Swan Inn, Farnborough. Sweet caramel aroma, but weak. Bright amber, decent white head. Sweet, with an underying bitterness. Smooth. Thirst quenching, with a dry and chalky finish. Sugar, caramel, malts, some ghostly hops. Not really strange, more quiet and unassuming.

Handpump at the Harp in London. Glean golden/orangey pour, off-white tick head. Nose: bread crumb and huge noble hops aroma, grass. Mouth: soft carbonation, malty and grassy but very little bitterness...more evident in the aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Handpump at The Harp, London. Clear amber pour, tick off-white foamy head with retention and drafts. Nose: traces of dyacetil, a bit too evident although not much disgusting. Mouth: bitter in style, flat carbonation, some nutty feel. Just solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask (gravity) @ 31th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2014, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England. [ As Twickenham Decade ].Clear medium orange yellow color with a average, open and frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white - silver head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, pale malt, moderate hoppy, citrus, hop oil, orange. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, fruity, hop oil, citrus, toasted, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141204]

A clear rich golden colour with a small white head. A fruity citrus aroma with a little malt. Initial citrus flavour followed by a light biscuit malt sweetness and smooth bitter finish.

Cask at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. A pale straw pour with a thin white head, and lots of lacing on the glass; light citrus aroma; crisp and fruity in the mouth with some grapefruit and peach flavours; then a lingering bitter finish with some peach kernels and a hint of barleysugar. Packed with flavour, and really good for the ABV.

Tap at the Hope and Champion, Beaconsfield. Poured a clear straw colour with a thin white head. The aroma is yeast, citrus, light caramel. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light fruity, toothpaste hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
