Bottle at RBNAG 07. Golden / orange colour witha white head. Aroma is yeast, banana, flavour is dry, sweet, yeast, banana.. Nice beer.

(33cl bottle, with thanks to bierkoning) Hazy, mahogany colour with a big and light-beige foamy head. Slightly sugary, sweet malty nose with yeasty and fruity (berries, plums) notes and barely spicy accents. Sweet and sugary flavour, full bodied with a smooth and pleasant carbonation. Dark malty, moderately toasty taste with caramel and fruity compounds; sweet, malt-accented finish with subtle fruity and well-rounded spicy and warming alcoholic notes.

Sampled two bottles side by side. One labeled best before 2007, the other 2010. The older one was insanely much better, both ratings belowBB 2010 [i](33 cl bottle, thanks rickgordon!)[/i]Muddy shady dark brown color, tan head. Spicy Belgian ale yeast scent. Spicy, Belgian ale yeast taste as well. Spicy aftertaste. Bottle. Unclear medium amber / orange color with a averager, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, caramel, light to moderate hoppy, orange, moderate yeasty, fruit acidic, sulphur. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (281107)

2021-01-15, bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver, 75cl, 7-4-7-3-15=36
Dark amber colour, cloudy, with creamy head. It's moderately sweet, and even the body is not as thick as I would remember, on a positive note, the alcohol is barely perceived, as mild warmth; not much malt depth, I wonder if they used a lot of sugar here; there are some elegant esters in the aroma; the bitterness is almost absent; so, overall, the finish is on the weak side. A good Belgian beer, some elegance, but not much depth.
2007-10-06, I never found this bottle in Europe, finally found it at Saloon on U Street, Washington; if I recall, 33cl; 7-4-8-4-15=38
Cloudy brown color. Very sweet Belgian Strong Ale, malty, full bodied, with sweet caramel, not much bitter, and the alcohol is well hidden. Very good, but I expected more complexity and character.

Bottled. LSightly hazy honeyish golden colour, mediumsized beige creamy head. Aroma is fruits, yeast and some grassyness with lurking note of alcohol in the back. Flavour is fruityness mixed with wood and some yeast. Also some grassyness lurking. Aftertaste is quite sweet fruityness.

Bottle at the brewery Deep brown body with a creamy, lightly brown head. Balanced and quite compelx aroma of sweet malts, liquor, chocolate. Lightly sweet, moderately bitter and somewhat sour flavour. Quite complex flavour. Interesting but spicy sweetness dominates maybe somewhat too much.
