(33cl bottle) Hazy, orange coloured hue with yeast floaties swimming around and a mid-sized blond foamy head. Sweet, moderately yeasty, fruity (lemon zest, pineapple) and malty aroma with a lightly herbal and acidic note. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a pleasant carbonation. Soft pale malty taste, slightly fruity with herbal hoppy accents; slightly yeasty and bitter, herbal hoppy finish with a moderately fruity aftertaste. Okay.

Bottle Deep, muddy brown body. Off-white fizzy head. Aroma of hops, yeast (no caramel or spices as one would expect from the looks). Lightly bitter, lightly sweet flavour. Not very well balanced.

750ml bottle @ RBNAG’07. Hazy orange body with lots of floaters and a small white head. Aroma is strong citrus (lemon) and yeast. Flavor is malt and lots of grapefruit with a balanced spicy and hoppy finish. Very refreshing and very balanced. The floaters are on a negative side, otherwise a classic beer.

Aroma of dark malts and fruits. Dark mahogany color with a coarse beige/tan head. Full bodied with coarse/creamy carbonation. The flavor is smooth dark fruits and malts. Spice is present and complex, but light. The finish still bursts with fruits. Not a great deal of bitter, but neither is it sweet. An excellent example of how neither sweet nor bitter has to dominate. It’s fun to enjoy.

From 1½ L bottle, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours deep brown and still golden with a light orange lacing head. Aroma is caramel malty with a nice light spice note. Flavour is mild spiced with a solid malt flavour. Lovely yeasty note lingering in between the malt flavours. Very mild note of dried fruit into the finish. Nice solid caramel malt note lingering far into the finish as well.

750ml says Brasserie des Rocs Ambree; Best before 2008; Nose of yeast, brown sugar, caramel, orange zest, and light cloves; hazy copper-orange with a big straw head; flavor has light sweetness, slightly toasted caramel, cloves, and a little peppery spices, but no bitterness! Just a slightly sweet BSA. Maybe it would have been better fresher?
