[cask] An orange beer with a small head. The aroma is very sweet and hoppy - very fresh and inviting. The flavor is flat, sweet, and medium hoppy with notes of oranges. A fine beer but not fantastic.

Sampled cask conditioned at the Danish Beer Festival.
Amber coloured. Light flowery aroma. Sweet, clean and sugary. Very plain, and not very enjoyable.

Bright amber; earthy hop aroma; toasty hops, slight astrigency, some nice pale malt notes and I would say a shade too much yeast. Herbal hop finish.

Golden-orange with some haze. Lemon, marmalade, seabreezy malts on the nose. Light malt palate, a little mushroomy with some of that lemony note and a tiny bit off bitterness. But otherwise a fairly dull palate after a decent aroma.
Earlier rating 9/22/02: Bright orange; slight berry aroma, with leafy hops. The palate is quite yeasty, with husky malt flavours like the taste of spent grains (with crystal malt showing prominently). Very fresh tasting. Sharp bitterness throughout turns slightly astringent as it gets yeastier towards the finish. 7-4-7-3-14=3.5

Bright copper, no head; striking English hop nose w/ biscuity malt, peaches, earthy - kind of rustic aroma. Smooth palate, wonderfully extracted malts glide over the tongue. Peaches, sugared pears, growing into sweeter malts and then finishing just dry enough to make it work. A subtle, well-structured ale that shows what English brewing can do.

Old rating 10 4 9 3 18:Dont let the designed bottle fool you, this beer is terrific! A motherload of hops in the nose, a nice amber color and a citrusy hop taste to back the aroma up. The palate is fresh and enjoyable and the hops linger on some time after you took the last sip. Re-rate: Cloudy amber, low head. English hop nose. cookie malt, good hops to balance. Fruity. Not nearly as good as last time, weird.

small head. Rich orangey aroma. Wheat malt and vanilla lies underneath orangey hops and perfume. The body is fairly light and the mouthfeel caramelly and straightforward. Feels a bit juicy, but some vegetables wakes up whe the beer warms slightly and reduces the pleasure. Low bitterness.

Sampled cask conditioned. Dark brown. Malty and roasty with toffee aroma. More like a bitter than a German wheat.

Brakspear in a can? What is this world coming to? Chestnut colour with a thin head and faint haze. Aroma is of buttery, hazelnutty malts with a slight touch of peat and hard candy. Somewhat watery mouthfeel but weighty as well. Sweet caramelly maltiness (like a suped-up Dos Equis) and an almond-skin like astringency in the finish. Though it doesn't say so, this has Scottish leanings, but is a weak sister in the Brakspear family.
