Description
After a great reception from his hobby as an enthusiastic amateur brewer, Toby Mackenzie and his wife Caroline decided to expand and go full time establishing the award winning Red Willow brewery in 2010. Their aim was to make the types of beer that they like - full of flavour yet easy to drink. Red Willow now offer a range of beers that can be found in many local pubs and shops in cask

330ml bottle from Beeritz, Leeds. Wouldn’t have necessarily guessed this was a gooseberry saison, has a slightly sour tartness, fairly zesty but ultimately a little thin and watery. Disappointing in light of the other great Redwillow beers I’ve had this year.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines. Poured a deep mahogany with a frothy tan head. The aroma is weak roast with a hint of chocolate. The flavour is medium bodied with a watery sweet hop, slightly medicinal palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and a short bitter finish, If i’m honest, I think this may have been infected. It wasn’t anywhere near what I expected.
