(Cask at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell, London, 23 Nov 2013) Pale amber colour with brief off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with peaches, citrus and biscuity malt. Fruity, malty taste with notes of peaches, biscuits, citrus and a certain citric/floral bitterness in the finish. Light body, with balanced sweetness. Tasty and highly drinkable. Quite nice.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter not pleasent flavor. Hops very unbalanced. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate. Not my kind of bitter.

Bottle at home, bought from brewery, 8th December 13. Slight head, black body, aroma liquorice, peaty, earthy, some smoke and ash. Taste is slightly sweet, some ash, some salt, a little liquorice, and some alcohol in the finish. Palate is low carbo, as expected from this brewery and in line with the style, nice stout.

330ml bottle from Beer Ritz, Leeds. As expected LOTS of hoppy flavours with tangerine & grapefruit getting a nose in, alongside a solid resinous backbone. Yet another fine Redwillow brew.

Bottle. Amber colour with an off-white head with nice lacework and good retention. Aroma is fresh hoppy with notes of citrus and flowers. Flavor is slightly citrusy and mild flowery with a light maltiness. Final almost watery with a mild bitterness.

Keg at the Rake. It pours darkest brown with a minimal beige head. The nose is smooth, roasty, toffee, cola, toast and earth. The taste is bitter-sweet, soft roast, toast, caramel, cola, earth, liquorice, light burnt notes and decent bitterness with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and lowish carbonation. Perhaps a bit flat, but pretty tasty. Solid CDA action, if a little uneventful.

Cask @ Urban Taphouse. Hugely enjoyable black IPA, hoppy with fresh lemon tart and a powerfully rich fruity blend with a moderate sweetness.
