12 oz brown bottle with a twist off cap. Another one from that tree huggen’ beer company. Twist the lid for an aroma which is a little ashy. After that the smell is a little like the aftermath of a small campfire. Very dark brown translucent with just a tinge of reddish orange coming thru. Taste impact is complacent with some bitter back of throat burnt sensations. Carbonation is half decent low medium. Tho I don’t see any bubbles within, there is some keen tingle on the back of the tongue. Finish is burny wood back throat with an indignant immediate personality. Comes across thinly as the carbonation fades. Not too bad. Don’t stand up to Yuengling black & tan.

12 oz bottle with a twist off cap. This is my first Wolavers and now I see it is made by otter creek. On the label it says it is certified organic. I’m not one to be high-spirited about healthier environment causes. Twist the cap off and you are faced with a musty aroma. After that fades, it turns into a sort of chocolate smell but it is not real strong. The look of this beer is darker than the typical pale yellow beer, it is more brown colored like dark cream soda or light root beer. Has just a girdle ring of bubbles on the inside edge on top if the beer, no head. No apparent bubbles of carbonation are visible within this transparent brown brew. I’m impressed with the flavor of this; it is kind of chocolaty, nice friendly addressable taste. An ever so slight beer bitterness on the sides of the tongue but it don’t seem to be oppressive, it is rather well controlled. There is a mild fast bitterness that build on the back of the throat after each drink. The finish does seem to have an odd industrial back of the throat taste that sticks for a while, rather contrary for a organic brew. Good medium tingly carbonation. Overall not bad, chocolaty in taste and aroma, but that odd finish is something I’ve got to deal with. Better than Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale and Saranac brown ale. Somewhat on par with the rest of the decent brown ales I’ve had such as Green Flash Nut Brown Ale, Brooklyn Brown Ale, Bells Best Brown Ale. Hoewever, this is not even close to East End Brewing’s Fat Gary as far as taste and satisfaction go.

12 oz. bottle, bottled 10/25/06. Amber Ale. A catchall style that might be something good, might be something bland. This one pours amber enough, all right, with just a few clumps of bubbles. Sweet malty smell, fair enough. Taste is pretty straightforward. Decent caramel malts, a sharp, mostly European hop spiciness. Everything in a nice balance, although the balance is tenuous: a bit cloying here, a little to bitter there. Wheat does soften it up just a little it. Nothing off about it. Floral malty aroma...peach iced tea color...very zingy defiantly, rich mouth feel, full body, nothing crazy, but good

Poured a little darker yellow, bronze than I anticipated with a thin white head. Smells of grain, slight hops and juniper. Taste was nice, a little sweet and malty with a hint of rye and honey. Finish is clean, a little watery. I would have liked the finish to be more crisp. All in all, nice beer, not spectacular.

Bottle. red amber, creamy offwhite layer. Piney and caramelly aroma. Carmel base, broad herbal hop profile (heather, orangepeel and junpier). Medium body, sparkly mouthfeel. Nice enough.

Bottle. Roast and chocolate aroma. Dark brown, low head. Chocolate, milk, light licorice, clove and yeast. Anise aftertaste - getting a slightly weird vibe here.

Pours orange/copper into a shaker. Head quickly recedes with tear lacing. Upfront malt and well-balanced. Dry, bitter resin finish.
