Orange with reddish shine, hazy; white-pinkish head, dense, not stable. Very fruity nose, in descending order citrus, strawberry, Japanese pear, lactic acid,Brett, estery. Fruity and bitter taste, at the edge of tart. Bitter melon (faint), arbutus fruit (I'm searching it)), and quite some piney hops (obvious). Medium to full bodied. Tartness to dry-out effect. Remarkable beer, astride on several styles. This brewery deserves a lot more recognition. And God, I was up to some decent Belgian ale.

Blond color, creamy head. Nice aromatic hop in the nose; light cheesy ammonia. Poor malt, but very good hop extraction, tastes really like the flowers. Aromatic palate, of course; dry. Unusual, but I like it.

Hazy golden color, with huge creamy head. The aroma is dry and very spicy, cloves. The mouthfeel is quite dry, but smooth as well; it has a complex and wonderful flavor of spicy malt, with quite bold bitterness.
An excellent Belgian beer, fresh and with character.

Beautiful color, orange-amber, hazy, with a generous head. The aroma is initially fruity, not showing signs of age, then some yeast spiceness appears. The body is lean, there is some malt and spice flavor, but also a moderate sourness, that in this case adds some complexity; the final is well bitter, with light astringency. Interesting, changed over the years, but not old.

Wonderful amber color, nice perlage, big creamy head. Straightforward Strong Belgian Ale, well executed, with a round mouthfeel, some malt flavor, Belgian yeast character and a strong bitterness.

The aroma is quite fruity and Belgian, mellow. Malty flavor, with a Belgian yeast touch/astringency.

Nice color, bright, orange-copper. There is some marmalade aroma. Good toffee flavor, strong, with strong bitterness, light herbal touch and impression of Goldings hops. Very good.

Clear amber; huge, creamy, broken-white head, retreating with very fine lace. Cookies, roasted malts, liqueurish, spicy (coriander, paradise seed?) in the nose. Taste is biscuit (not madeirisated) with a little bitter edge, as a cake with a liberal dose of Amaretto. Appropriate spicy finish. Medium-bodied. Aftertaste is much sweeter than the rest. The overall taste might be sweet, but everything surrounding the sweetness makes it more than palatable. Refined, 'high-brow' dessert beer.

Murky, rusty orange, with impressive lace work - highly musty aroma with hints of citrus - musty qualities in the flavor mix oddly with the hops and citrus to create a flavor that I can best describe as a mixture of mildew and cleaning products - some mild, malty sweetness comes in to try and correct this horrid mistake, but it doesn't really make up for it, as the bitterness returns to create a highly medicinal finish - what a waste of 10 bucks.

Overall, pretty good- not bad nor great! I bought this 33 cL bottle at Green's Beverages in Atlanta, Georgia and sampled it on 27-September-2003.

The aroma is a fresh hoppy and grassy one. The color is a hazy orange and it has a beutiful head. The flavor is sweet and very hoppy bitter. The palate is quite filling. A great beer - but not that Belgium.

(Pinkish) head gone in four seconds flat (apt, that); deep garnet red, hazy, with a brownish hue. "Tart" nose with ripe cherries and cherrymost. Aromas of Cherry Heering and portwine (no madeirisation). Very tart, extremely woody, old oak-like taste. Acidity nearly lemon-like, only one step away from the great lambic-based krieks. Earthy aroma's, and flavours as from over-ripe fruit, or the pulp from pressed winegrapes. Quite well-bodied. The acidity lends it a false thinnish feeling. Dry-out effect. A truly great top-fermenting kriek. Not quite that, but all the same in the spirit of the Crombé kriek.
