Description
In 1994 Nino Bacelle decides - after a lot of experimental brews - that he is ready to bring his own beer to the market. It’s the start of Brewery Nino Bacelle. In 1995 Nino meets Guido Devos through the beer tasters association HOP. Guido is a founding member of HOP and has been active as an amateur brewer for years. Nino and Guido decide to pool resources and knowledge and hereby “Brewery Nino Bacelle“ turns into Brewery De Ranke. This name refers to the vines on which the main ingredient for beer grows: hops. The beers are brewed at the Deca Brewery
In 2005, after 11 years of brewing at Brewery Deca, Nino and Guido decide to start their own brewery in Dottenijs.

This is a good beer but I would be very unhappy if I had purchased this for the retail of $30. A dry, well-hopped bee. Lots of chalk. This is very well carbonated and the thick head as well as the abundance of bubbles in the golden liquid make this better looking than most. The body is fairly heavy. In addition to chalk, there is some clove and other light spices as well. Some yeast is in there but plays a minor role. Clearly well made, but I don’t know how it sells at the price they are asking. Thanks to Joebrew for this one.

Bottled at Horsens Beerfestival. Unclear, orange-amber, with a nice beige head. Sour-notes, wheat and spices in the aroma. Medium to full body, with a sweet flavor followed by spices and some wheaty notes. Quite nice. Rating: 7-4-7-3-14-3.5. 061028
Bottle, thx to Peer. It pours a hazy, orange body and a finger-thick off-white to pale beige head with good length. Nice, grassy, citrusy aroma with a slightly sugary maltyness. Sweet on the palate, with a good bitterness. Orange-peel, pine cones and grass too. Medium body, nicely carbonated. Bitter, orangey and piney finish. Not my choice for a Christmas beer, but it goes very well at other occasions. 101208

Bottle, 8.5%. Refreshing acidic aroma. Cloudy golden colour, small white head. The flavour is a bit rough, but pleasantly so. Fruity and yeasty. Typically Belgian. Dry finish.

Bottle, Oude Arsenaal, Antwerp, Belgium, 04-10-06. Poured a warm golden colour, with a good white fluffy head. Aroma was very hoppy and a bit yeast as well, taste was also refreshingly bitter with hops dominating, long lingering finish, most enjoyable.
