great nose of fruit hops, and the flavour is much of the same. Just a solid pale ale, nice and refreshing, i stock it as mich as i can for the summer. Very well made, and very solid.

had it a long time ago, and i just got myself a 6er. aroma is lots of rasty malt, and coffee. Flavour is very very roasty, with hints of coffee, and a tad bit of chocolate. finish is quite bitter, and very satisfying. A very nice beer, but like the previous rating, more of a ramped up stout, than an "imperial stout".

nice fruity nose, and sweet. the malt runs though, and it there, and compliments the sweetness. tiny bit of a bitterness in the finish, an overall nice beer.

Cloudly very light straw yellow. Taste is resinous, a little pine, over sweet hay malt. Lingering bitterness on the finish. It's passible.

This Märzen poured a deep amber colour with a creamy, off white head. Nice lacing. Scents include corn, dough, biscuit and a little corn syrup. First swig was not too bad. Quite thin, with flavours of corn, malt and light toast. Finish is a bit sweet with malty flavours lingering.

Notes from April 2010 2.33/5 rDev -35.6% look: 4.5 - smell: 1.5 - taste: 2 - feel: 4 - overall: 2.5 My uncle brought a pack of this stuff & the Arkell Bitter back over the border. Would I have been happier with some suspect prescription drugs? Only time will tell. Poured into a DFH rounded pint glass. An inch of milky, cream-colored froth develops over a filtered, orange hued, dark wood stained body. Really appetizing. Smell is boring. Hard water, aluminum, hay, a touch of menthol-like hops & maybe anise, & some caramelized cereal. Taste is dusty/dry malt, slightly burnt hulls, earthy carob, bland metallic hops, & a slight phenol edge near the finish(a bit like stamp glue) before it goes numb. Carbonation & overall feel is your only relief. Crisp & just barely sharp. Thin body(though it sometimes comes off as chalky), a dry finish, & minimal aftertaste. These six packs are completely boxed, & the winter has been pretty cold, so I don't think the elements effected these much. No best by or bottled on date. The bottles are pretty beat up, so they probably traveled quite a bit before reaching their destination. As far as the beer goes, it's just a semi-tolerable, ho-hum thirst quencher at best. Bland & inoffensive enough to be swallowed & forgotten while concentrating on those Doritos you're hoarding.

Notes from April 2010 Sealed six pack smuggled across the border. Snazzy-looking Duke portrait bottle caps to add to the collection. Pint glass pour. A somewhat dull, filtered amber-colored body. An inch of thin, eggshell head. It looks bored. Not a whole lot on the smell. Toasted brown bread crust, some caramel, glassy pine. Smells a bit of leather too. Taste is mild & doughy. A touch muddy/minerally, with a so-so bite of grassy hops. Dry, yeasty, peppery finish. Lackluster carbonation. Tacky mouthfeel. Dusty going down. A decent thirst quencher. Not something I'd buy again though. Actually, I think my uncle bought this for me while on vacation over there.

Berry, caramel malt and hay aroma. Copper color with moderate off-white head. Moderately sweet caramel malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Good body.
