Description
We are George and Tom Jenkinson, brothers and directors of our family run brewery. Founded in 1980 by our father and mother, Richard and Lesley Jenkinson, we remain the oldest independent brewery in the Chiltern Hills and Buckinghamshire.

Located on an old working farm in the heart of the Chiltern Hills, the emphasis has always been to produce natural, wholesome beers using the best, class A malt and hops sourced in England. Our brewing process mirrors age-old methods and our beers are brewed with skill, passion and integrity. We have always been proud to support British farmers and all of our ingredients have a good provenance.

330ml can bought as part of a delivery from the brewery and drunk at home. Pours light to mid-golden, clear with a loose white head. Barely detectable floral aroma. Bittersweet taste, slightly resinous. More of a medicinal character in the finish. Orange peel, kumquat. Light body with medium carbonation. There are better low/no beers out there but this one is a decent enough choice.

440ml can from the brewery and drunk at home. As Earl Grey Pale Ale, 3.6%. Dark brownish gold, clear with a ring of off-white head. Light perfuming of the bergamot on the nose, with some dried grass and a touch of caramel. Taste starts of sweet but becomes bitter very quickly. Very dry on the finish. Medium body with carbonation in the aftertaste. Interesting and not bad at all.

330ml can as part of a delivery from the brewery. Labelled as just Chiltern Lager. It is light gold and clear with a small ring of white head and a fair bit of lacing. Aroma of hay, dry toast, a little bit of cardboard. Bittersweet taste, tiny suggestions of hard citrus, cereal grains. Drying finish. Medium body with carbonation on the heavy side. A reasonable lager.

Pale brown colour with thin head. Aroma is very grassy. Sweet taste. Quite syrupy and fruity. Tinned peaches. The grassy element is there in the taste too which is a slight detraction.
