500ml bottle bought as part of a delivery from the brewery and drunk at home. Middle of the road gold, clear with a small film of whitish head. Light bready aroma, some citrus. Fresh taste, a little buttery, bitterness coming in quickly. Medium body, carbonation on the heavy side. Odd granit aftertaste. Typical golden beer, maybe slightly better than most.

330ml bottle purchased as part of a delivery from the brewery and drunk at home. Very dark brown, almost black, opaque with a loose and quickly dissipating beige head. Aroma of dusty grains, some coffee, light yeast extract. Bittersweet taste, intense coffee, some souring dryness, more yeast extract, a bit of seawater. Bitter coffee and liquorice in the aftertaste. Intense.

Bought from their stall in St Albans market. Totally flat pour with no life. The taste was fish and this was an immediate drain pour. Awful.

500ml bottle bought as part if a delivery from the brewery and drunk at home. Iced tea brown, clear with a little bit of off-white head. Light aroma of caramel and oak. Taste is sweet, oaky, slightly tangy. So subtle yet so good. And fantastic with food. Gentle body with medium carbonation. Chiltern haven't exactly set my world alight but this is a fucking excellent best.

500ml bottle bought as part of a delivery from the brewery. Drunk at home. Dark brown, a little bit translucent with a quickly dissipating khaki head. Spice dominates the aroma. Lots and lots and lots of clove, maybe some cinnamon as well. Sweet taste, some chocolate and a little bit of cola. Peppery notes. Finish is slightly sour which is a bit odd but it works well enough. Light body, slightly heavy carbonation. I don't understand the rock bottom rates, it's not amazing but it's solid enough.

500ml bottle bought as part of a delivery from the brewery. Actually it’s two bottles as one was a rebadge. Ok, let’s drink a litre of old ale. Tawny brown, clear with a ring of off-white head. Lots of toffee and caramel in the aroma, some fudge cake, a little bit of spiced orange. Bittersweet taste, more caramel and touches of citrus peel. Medium body and slightly heavy carbonation. Good for the style, I certainly enjoyed it.

330ml bottle bought as part of a delivery from the brewery and drunk at home. Thinnish mid-brown, translucent with a small ring of beige head. Odd aroma of liquorice at first, then caramel, sourdough and yeasty banana. Sweet taste, some caramel here, turning to a fairly harsh bitterness at the end. Flat body. It’s underwhelming and all over the place, but drinkable.

440ml can bought as part of a delivery from the brewery and drunk at home. Mid-brown, looks translucent and thin, almost no head. Sweet coffee beans dominate the aroma. Sweet taste, again dominated by coffee but the flavour is a little more complex with light chocolate notes and very bitter finish. Light to medium body, a little oily, very little carbonation. It has its moments.

500ml bottle as part of a delivery from the brewery and drunk at home. It pours dark gold, clear with a small loose off-white head. Hay, bread, caramel in the aroma. Sweet taste, a little cloying but not too bad, tempered with bitter hops closer to the finish. More caramel in the aftertaste with bitterness on the back of the tongue. Full body with soft carbonation. Okay.
