Black currant is light here, as is the overall flavour. A little watery and thin on flavour. Pours reddish orange without any head. Light tart finish. Usually they have a little more body. Tap at Shelter.

Bottle at home. Slightly cloudy dark peachy orange with white head. Misc red berries, some light funk. Quite a bit of carbonation. Spritzy.

Bottle @ company tasting. Unclear golden body under a decent white head. Aroma has fruity funk, some wood, hint of acidity. Unusually but pleasant aroma, can’t put my finger on what it is but sure interesting. Flavor follows up the surprising aroma, both sweet and acidic, super refreshing, kind of fruity, citric, oranges, flowers. Fine body with nice aftertaste. This was really nice and fun to taste.

75cl bottle (2020 version) on the train from Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth on Saturday 27th April 2024, Jolly Boys Outing! Started off clear, but the sediment joined in on the second pour, wispy head. Sour without being too cheek sucking, farmyard and apples came to mind as I sipped my share (which was pretty large).

750mL bottled April 2022, drunk April 2024. Moderately-strong gushing upon opening, even after a long cold cellar (and two years in bottle). Lightly hazy, having gushed. Muted bronze-lime. Massive, overcarbonated, white head. Nose is indeed massively fruity, lush and juicy with big malts, moderate amounts of well-developed Brett and light stone fruit on the finish. Very low lactic character, no acetic, no oak. In the mouth, after it breathes and the carbonation comes down to manageable levels, it's extremely malty, slick, wheat-dense and fairly sweet. Certainly lives up to its Young moniker. I appreciate what they're trying to do here and the fruitiness is there and enjoyable, but it's too sweet, ultimately, and there's zero sourness and only low levels of tartness. Probably a reason why gueuze is blended with three year old beer....That or you need to wait like five more years before opening.

Sampled at a bottle share, 750ml bottle pours pinkish purple with some pinky head. Nose has cherry and raspberries, a little lemony, a little faded though. Flavor has some lemon and some flowers, cherries, raspberry, some currant. Finishes medium bodied. OK.

375 bottle capped & corked from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours gold with a slight, transient white head. Funky aroma. Med body. Flavor starts with lots of white grape. Lots of funk quickly follows. Quite dry. Mildly funky sour. Mostly funky. A bit astringent. Very approachable.
