Description
Stack Brewing was launched right here in Sudbury in June of 2013. The idea came about by Shawn Mailloux, a fan of good beer, born and raised right here in the Nickel City. After years of drinking beers that were not quite right for him and his friends, he decided to brew a beer that would appeal to casual and seasoned beer drinkers alike.

Clear copper, amber pour, nice small bubbly beige head. A nice slightly hoppy aroma, some good cereals, amd subtle bready malts, with some good grassy notes. The mouth feel is nice, and the carb is a little soft. The finish is medium bitter, with a nice dose of grassy hops. A touch of wet cardboard in the end, but its not that bad. Quite a nice example of the style. A solid malty, easy drinking lager.

Dark brown/black pour, with a small beige head. Aroma is loaded with pumpkin pie spices. Cinnamon, cardamon, nutmeg, and some traces of ginger. There is also some nice amounts of roasted malt, and touches of chocolate, and coffee. This is one of the best beers ive had that has succesfully crossed the pumpkin and porter styles. The best of both world, and the pumpkin spices arnt over powering, good stuff.

jet black pour, big, frothy, mocha head. Very roasty nose. Some gorgeous roasted malt aromas, with touches of coffee, and bitter cocoa powder. The mouth feel is a tad thin, i was expecting a more luscious feel with the oatmeal addition, but its still quite good, The finish is medium bitter, with a dry, bitter, roasty finish. Reminds me alot of one of the best oatmeal stouts around St Ambroise. This is good stuff.

Growler from the brewery. Dark amber pour, small beige head. Aroma of smoke, sausages, and touches of wood, grass, and some vanilla. The body is nice, the carbonation is perfect. The finish is woody, with more good notes of smoke, but the oak is near impossible go find. Its tough to rate this cause im not sure what the base beer was. All in all a decent smoked beer, nice smomy notes, but the oak is tough to find,

Draft at the Sudbury beer fest. Pours a cloudy gold, with a fluffy white head. Aroma of pithy lemon zest, with some bright, fresh ginger. the carb is quite active, and adds to the brightness of the beer. The finish is lightly bitter, with more pithy goodness from the lemon. The lemon is quite bright, and the ginger gets a bit earthy in the finish. A very refreshing, quenching beer, great patio session ale.

Draft at the Sudbury beerfest. Pours a cloudy orange/amber, with a small beige head. Aroma begins with a big dose of chai, lots of spices, but the vanilla is lost, I can’t find it. The body is ok, and the carbonation is soft. The finish is more of the same, loads of spices, predominantly cinnamon, and cardamon. The chai flavor dominates, with touches of vanilla in the finish. The vanilla is faint, and doesnt make much of an appearance, what does shows no signs of 40 creek whisky. The chai aspect on the other hand is alive and well, and pleasant.

946ml fresh bottle from the brewery.
Jet black pour, big mocha head. Nice piney hop aroma, big burnt malts, with some soy and slght smoke. The mouthfeelis good, and the carbonation is a tad high. The finish is very very roasty, but the hops do come through. Good pine resin notes, and solid charred malts. A nice beer, gets much better once it warms and you let it breathe. Best beer on the regular roster.

Very dark, murky, brown pour, with a small beige head. Aroma of dark fruit, sweet, bready malts, and some soft yeasty esters. Solid mouthfeel, and soft carbonation. Alcohol is well hidden. Quite fruity, low bitterness, i think im getting some belgian candi sugar. This reminds me alot of a belgian strong ale.

Hazy, cloudy, yellow pour with a thin white head. Aroma of malted wheat, wet cardboard, and minerals. Soft carbonation, thin mouthfeel. The beer feels watery, and the finish is dominated by the wet carboard flavor.
