Description
Stack Brewing was launched right here in Sudbury in June of 2013. The idea came about by Shawn Mailloux, a fan of good beer, born and raised right here in the Nickel City. After years of drinking beers that were not quite right for him and his friends, he decided to brew a beer that would appeal to casual and seasoned beer drinkers alike.

Can from the LCBO. Pours a pretty clean, light-golden colour with a big frothy warm cap, nice stay and lots of thick foamy-creamy lacing. Fresh grassy aromas with hints of pines and citrus zest. Hints of chemical-plastic do come out, but not crazy offensive. The taste is pretty mild, quite light actually. Probably all-around smooth with the wheat. Lacking hops to give it that good Session IPA, but at least no infection sourness like some of their other brews. Does get better with every sip. Dryer mouthfeel and citrus peel get stronger. Easy-drinking for the northern summers.

This cream ale poured a cloudy, medium yellow colour with a creamy bright white head. Scents include cereal, dill, citrus and dough. Nice lacing. First swig was quite thin with flavours of light spice, a little citrus and dough. Finish is malty with a little yeast flavour lingering.

Can from the LCBO. Now labelled as a session IPA with no mention of cedar aging, but calling out Citra , Simcoe and Rakau as the hop bill. Clear pale gold under a small short lived white head leaving patchy lace. Nose is citrus, stone fruit, pine, melon, light grass and some light caramel. Flavour is light fruit sweetness with melon and lychee more forward than the nose and a medium- pine and grass bitterness. Mouth is slightly thin as expected from a session with a short lightly bitter finish. 7+/3+/7-/3/14+

Can: Poured a clear brown color ale with a nice large light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of banana bread with some caramelized malt and residual sugar is quite nice. Taste is a nice mix of caramelized malt notes with residual sugar with loads of banana bread ester. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Really enjoyable beer though I thought the banana bread ester resemble a doppelbock more than a quad.

Pours a hazy caramel-ruby colour with a beige fizzy head that disappears rather quickly leaving minimal lacing. Again, seems infected with some sourness in the nose. Because this is a Quad, does not show as much as their lower ABV brews. Other than that, some toffee and fruity yeast. Flavours of plums, figs, yeast, hints of bananas and caramel malts. Not bad, but wish this sour/infection would not be there. Not really Belgian as a Quadrupel.
