Description
Stack Brewing was launched right here in Sudbury in June of 2013. The idea came about by Shawn Mailloux, a fan of good beer, born and raised right here in the Nickel City. After years of drinking beers that were not quite right for him and his friends, he decided to brew a beer that would appeal to casual and seasoned beer drinkers alike.

Dark brown pour, with redish hues. Small white head, that dissipated quickly. Dank sour Aroma, fruity funk with lactic notes, and hints of malt vinegar. Light mouthfeel, light carb. Finish is funky and sour, but not over the top. Soft fruit, red wine, and with light vinegar. Light bitterness, a nice sour brown.

Clear golden pour, small white head, quickly dissipating head. Aroma is soft grains and cereals, the lightest touch of grassy hops. Crisp mouth feel, nice carb. Finish is clear and refreshing, barely any bitterness and a clean finish. Pretty good alternative to macro swill.

Pale yellow Pour, medium white head. The aroma is quite obviously loaded with tropical fruit..... Papaya, mango, and pineapple. Some light white wine acidity, light vinous notes. Solid mouthfeel, good carb. A slightly tart Lome zest finish, nice and crisp, and clean. Quite refreshing, and zesty. A great drinking ale.

Mahogany pour, with a medium white head. Dark fruit, sweet bready malts, lots of raisins and figs with some minerals. Soft carb, medium mouth feel. The finish is sweet, but was a light bitterness near the end. Loads of dark sweet fruit, and some dry mineral flavours. Some dark, caramel malty grains... Alcohol is very well hidden. A nice effort.

Hazy golden pour, medium white head. Aroma is super yeasty, crisp cereals, light fruit, and some white pepper. Body is a tad thick, mouth feel could be a little crsiper for the style. Finish is quite low on the bitterness woth a pleasant peppery/fruity finish.

On tap at the northern Ontario beer fest. Homebrew competition winner, now sold in cans. Hazy orange pour, small white head. Nice happy Aroma. Loads of pine resins and some solid citrus with some slightly stale malts. Good mouth feel, soft carb. Very resinous finish, medium bitterness, I just wish the malt bill was a but more crisp and less extract tasting.

Hazy yellow pour with a big frothy white head. Aroma is tart, with some tangy lemon and soft wheat. Very soft carb, and a good mouthfeel. Finish is a touch savoury, with some subtle saltiness with more tart wheat and lemon zest. Very refreshing, a very nice beer.

Bottle from the brewery. Dark brown, almost opaque pour, with a large off white almost beige head. Aroma is woody, loads of dark fruit, especiall plums and figs, with some solid barrel aroma, and touches of red wine acidity. The barrel shows itself off well here. Its not dominating, but just enough to add some complexity. Carb is aperfect, mouthfeel is nice. The finish is fruty, with some metallic notes, and a dry very low on bitterness finish. Some fruit comes through in the end with some subtle spice, and wood, mahbe even some vanilla. I find the barrel falls off quite a bit from the aroma to the flavour. But inwould be hesitant to age this beer any longer in a barrel in fear it would becom a barrel bomb. Well done stack on your first barrel aged beer! Nice stuff!

Clear amber pour, medium white head. Slightly caramel malt aroma, with hints of resinous hops and some subtle cedar. Mouth feel is a little thin, carb is spot on. Finish is medium to low on the bitterness scale with a very hebacious note nearing the end. The cedar fades and doesnt show much past the aroma, but the grassy hops fill in and balance it out with a soft cereal bill.
