Description
Stack Brewing was launched right here in Sudbury in June of 2013. The idea came about by Shawn Mailloux, a fan of good beer, born and raised right here in the Nickel City. After years of drinking beers that were not quite right for him and his friends, he decided to brew a beer that would appeal to casual and seasoned beer drinkers alike.

Clear yellow pour, with a medium white head. Aroma has a good balance of the smokey Chipotle and the coffee. The mouth feel is nice and the carb is spot on. The finish is mostly just bitter coffee and touches of smoke.

500ml can from the brewery. Slightly hazy orange pour, with a very small white head. Aroma is very yeasty, with some upfront tropical fruit and solid cereals. The mouth feel is a touch Watery, with a soft carb. The finish is slightly spicy, with some medium bitterness. The white pepper that was put in is present in the finish, and mingles well with the slightly piney pungent hops.

Growler from the brewery. Clear copper pour, small off white head. Sweet bready malt aroma, with some subtle grasses. The mouth feel is good, and the carb is good. The finish is light to medium bitter and the finish is quite roasty, and nutty which is throwing me off. It’s has the finish of a brown ale.

Growler at the northern Ontario microbrewery festival.
Slightly hazy brown pour, with a small off white head. Light cereal aroma, slightly nutty, and very light grassy hops. Slightly Watery mouth feel, low carb. Satisfying cereal finish, but the hops fade, and it lacks a stylistic UK hop presence.

Black pour with a huge mocha head. A tart, sweet, upfront cherry aroma, with some thick, sticky charred malts. Mouth feel is a touch thin, and the carb is very low. The flavour is medium to high bitter with a strong bitter charred maltiness. Along with some subtle cocoa power, and chocolate cake notes with some more tart cherry sweetness. Quite a nice stout.

Pale yellow pour, with a large white head that disappears quickly. Aroma of tropical fruit, sweet cereals, and some white vinous grapes. Hops are quite present, slight citrus, and subtle pine. Carbonation is quite effervescent, but subtle. Finish is quite bitter, with some really nice white wine notes and acidity, with a great hop finish, with some nice bready, yeasty notes. Quite impressive, I really enjoyed it.

Hand bottled 1L Boston round from the brewery. Pour black, with a small tan head. A great combo aroma of medium roasted malts, with some sweet fragrant coconut, and some light burnt sugar. Good mouth feel, solid carbonation. The finish is light to medium bitter with a refreshing roasty/sweet finish. The coconut rounds out the bitterness with a light tropical, slightly nutty sweetness. Really nice stuff.

Growler from the brewery.
Dark hazy brown, small beige head. Loads of spice. Cinnamon, cardamon, and quite a bit of clove. The body is a touch thin, but the carb is good. The finish is very much like gingerbread, with an emphasis on the cloves and cinnamon.
