Bottle: Poured a clear dark burgundy color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of grainy malt notes with some dry fruits notes is not too bad. Taste is also a mix of dry fruits and residual sugar notes with some grainy malt notes which work more or less well with the other flavours. Body is about average with good carbonation. While there is some great quality to this beer but the grainy malt notes didn’t really work for me.

Pours a cola-looking colour with a small beige cap and minimal lacing. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate and mild coffee. Sweet, but not syrupy. Aromas are kind of off-balanced, with some sweetness, fruitiness and farm notes. Was expecting creamier, darker, richer. I guess it’s an easy-drinking mild stout.

Can from RCSS. Hazy pale yellow with a tiny white head that fades quickly to a sheet. Nose is light caramel malts and honey with some floral and grassy notes. Moderate fruity sweetness with just a slight lemony bitterness as well as a touch of pepper.Mouth is medium- and a bit chewy with slightly soft carbonation. 6+/3/7/3+/13

Can from Superstore. Clear dark mahogany with a creamy khaki coloured head that fades slowly leaving some patchy lace. Nose is roasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee with some pine resin lingering in the back along with a bit of vanilla and some fruit. Flavour starts a little sweeter than expected with a light+ molasses followed by a slightly more pronounced bitterness that doesn’t quite build to where I would expect it. Mouth is medium slick with slightly soft carbonation and a finish that is more sweet than bitter. 7/4-/6/3+/14

Sampled at Brother’s Beer Bistro. Pours a clean golden-amber colour with an off-white head and light creamy lacing. Light grainy aromas. Nice grain taste, seems like rye, with mild hops that are well-blended, adding a smooth bitterness. Lingering with grass and hints of cloves. A nice refreshing California Common.

A hazed golden ale with a very thin off white head. In aroma, smooth grapefruit pulp with light malt, grassy, OK. In mouth, a sweet grapefruit juice over light malt, like a pop, OK. On tap at Wellington Gastropub.

Can: Poured a pale yellow radler with alight bubbly head. Aroma of light grapefruit juice notes with thin cereal notes. Taste is also dominated by grapefruit juice with some sweet notes. Body is light with OK carbonation. Grapefruit flavors could have been even more dominant but still enjoyable for what it is.
