On tap in Ottawa. Has a small head and okay brownish body. Soft malt aroma. flavour has nutty notes with more malt and grain hints. Medium palate. A good red-style ale, though far from memorable.

Pretty sure this is the one I had at Berryman Pub in Ottawa, as they called it "Kichesippi Dark". Pours a copper-amber colour with a creamy beige head, good retention and showing some stickiness on the glass. Nice fresh roasty nose with coffee notes. Medium-thick mouthfeel with a little stick to it. Beautiful hoppy presence the whole way, blending things between the mild roasted, caramel and cereal malts. Nice bitterness in the finish creating a mild dry aftertaste. A great session that is very well-balanced.

Not sure how long this has been retired for, but it tastes a bit past its prime. Or was this what it always tasted like? Guess ill never know. Pours black with a little coca cola head that diappearses immediately. Cole like in ocolour. Taste is a little sour, a little nutty bitterness. Nothing really going on here other than enjoying a slow death in retirement in the beer cellar at the rhino.

Not sure if this is really retired or not. If so, I certainly shouldnt be drinking a bottle for 4 bucks at the Rhino. Pours with a creamy reddish hue head. Thick n black. Smell has boozy malt and some coffee, some cacao full on with the sour after that the raw fruit brings in Brazil. But that sour doesnt come till the aftertaste. No idea how old this is. Stubby.

Bottle: Poured a golden color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry slightly unrefined cereal notes is OK. Taste is a mix between some unrefined cereal notes with light sweet malt notes and no discernable hops presence. Body is about average with OK carbonation. Not bad overall but light unrefined cereal notes didn’t please me particularly.

Draught, Pub Italia. Amber-brown. Thin head. Faint aroma is slightly caramelly and nutty. Basically a mild, toasty brown ale. A bit light but nothing wrong with it.
