Description
The Atlantic Brewing Company began as Acadia Brewing in 1990. At first the brewery was located inside the Lompoc Cafe in downtown Bar Harbor and had a maximum capacity of just one barrel at a time. Within a few years the demand for our beers had grown so much that we moved the brewery two doors down from the restaurant and increased our capacity to seven-barrel batches. However, by 1998, we had outgrown that facility as well and so we moved again – this time to our current location on the Knox Road. Our estate brewery was built on the grounds of a 19th century Maine farmstead, that employs native vegetation and local stonework.
Atlantic Brewing Company has created a site to develop new and exciting small batch beers only seven barrels at a time. This pilot facility allows fellow brewers from around the state, country, and world to collaborate on unique recipes and formulations in a shared environment. These brews, together with Atlantic small batch beer, are offered in a tasting room setting. Flights, large pours, and growlers are available for purchase at the bar.

The appearance had a hazy dark brown body with a foamy tan half finger white head that lasts for about a good minute. The body is too hazy for any carbonation to be seen rising and there is minimal lacing.
The smell had bitter hops up front with a light bit of malts with an even lighter sense of molasses.
The taste was a slight malty sweetness combined nicely with the bitter hops. A slight breadiness comes through as well.
On the palate, it sat at/about a medium on the body. The carbonation is felt and seems to absorb some of the creaminess coming through, dry aftertaste and finish.
Overall, I do like this. I like how a lot more hops come than most ESB’s I’ve had, and the malts are not necessarily subdued but has a certain strength in it. I would definitely get it again.

The appearance was a dark brown body with a finger of tan foamy head, no lacing.
The smell was smoky/ roasty through light coffee, light chocolate, and malts.
The taste was mostly sweet, eventually gets some bitter qualities through previously mentioned flavors.
On the palate, it sat about a medium on the body, was pretty smooth, sessionable, bitter yet somewhat sweet aftertaste and finish.
Overall, this was a pretty good Scottish ale Id probably have again.

The appearance was a red/brown/copper colored body that leaves a small off-white almost light tan film of a head with lumpy valleys, some ever so small bubbles trickle up making a clear ring around the top.
The smell was sweet, its mainly the honey that comes out very strong. Some yeasty wheat tones come out as well. The alcohol comes out in the smell.
The taste was sweet through the honey once again trying desperately to block the alcohol, but I definitely notice the alcohol in the taste.
On the palate, it was smooth and wet, a good medium carbonation feel yet a slight harshness on the tongue
Overall, though I can feel the alcohol burn going down, this is almost hard to believe this is a beer. This is definitely a dessert beer for two reasons: 1) the sweetness 2) the abv will help you sleep. I would definitely get this again.

The appearance had a golden brown colored body with a one finger small white head that died within five seconds, no lacing was seen. Carbonation was seen slowly rising in columns.
The smell had some grains at the center with floral grassy notes slightly in the background.
The taste was balanced between the floral grassy notes and the grains. Some corn comes out, but nothing offensive. It also slightly sweetens a bit as the beer warms.
On the palate, it sat about a light with some carbonation making itself known, yet it wasn’t overbearing. It was pretty drinkable, but the ABV is unknown, so not sure what to say other than sessionable by mouthfeel.
Overall, this is not a bad summer beer. I think I would have this again depending upon the circumstances.

The appearance had a slightly hazy amber colored body and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. The head lasted longer than I thought.
The smell had some blueberries and light malt.
The taste was blueberries with a toasted malty flavoring
On the palate, it sat about a light to medium, sessionable, toasty yet sweet aftertaste, slightly bitter finish.
Overall, this is good for the style and me, I’d probably have it again.

The appearance was a hazy orange amber body leaving a small half finger white head lasting for less than ten seconds. Small streams of carbonation were seen rising. There was barely any lacing.
The smell had the ginger up front with some light malts coming out as the beer warmed, not much else going on.
The taste was basically the same.
On the palate, she sat about a medium and was sharp as hell, probably due to the ginger, so its expected (it tells me the ginger is real and not fake). For 5.2, I’d say this is fairly drinkable, but the sharpness of the ginger helps to bring it down a bit.
Overall, I’m a big fan of ginger and actually really liked this and if I lived in their distro would definitely want more of.

Fresh bomber, drunk winter 2009/2010
Plenty of white head tops a rusty-golden body, clear. Moderate retention.
Brassy, earthy hop nose smells like tettnang or something like that. Touches of metallic notes scar the otherwise enjoyable aroma. Light toasted grains and touches of honey round out the medium strength aroma.
Loose, big-bubbled carbonation does not really work with the droopy maltiness. Moderately sweet and somewhat broken up by the grassy and earthy hop notes, but theres a heavy mineralesque flavor bordering metallic, again, that makes the beer lose a lot of steam. Somewhat watery with a hard texture.

Rcvd in trade.
The appearance is a dark brown colored body almost close to black with a two finger white to almost off-white foamy head that dies at a nice pace leaving a decent amount of foamy lacing in its wake.
The smell is a fair amount of espresso coffee beans up front dosed with some nice light vanilla creaminess that comes through slightly roasty.
The taste is mainly sweet and roasty but an underlying gentle bitterness adds into the flavoring from the espresso. The aftertaste has a sweet roasty espresso and slightly vanilla with a quick dry finish.
The palate is about at a medium with a slight sessionable quality to it. Carbonation runs really smooth as it rolls over my mouth and tongue.
Overall, I say this is a pretty good milk/sweet stout with a nice added coffee flavoring to add to its complexity. I would have this again if it was in my distribution, until then, this is definitely worthy of seeking out if you live in New England area.

Bottle at home in Salisbury - grabbed at Julio’s in MA. Pours mostly clear, deep gold with a moderate, frothy off-white head. The aroma holds dirty grass, dry bread, orange rind and mild grapefruit. Light to medium sweet with dirty leaves, toasted grass, light pine, dried bready malts. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Further rindy bitterness to finish, mildly sweet with tangerine, melon, grapefruit, bitter pine cones, grass, earth. OK.

The appearance is a golden brown body gave a small white head appeared for less than twenty seconds. It showed little carbonation. Barely any lacing was shown.
The smell was based around the hops with some slight citrus notes. A bit of pine was combined with the malts.
The taste has some citrus in front of the hops with the pine notes taking more of a background.
The palate is basically a medium with a smooth yet tingly sort of feel.
