Cask @ Sportsman, Huddersfield. Copper-amber with a glow and a creamy head. Its strength is evident in its robust deeper hoppy aroma and taste.

Keg @ Shuffledog, Leeds. Very dark with a thin head. Has a heavy nutty aroma and is nutty in taste too. Its ice cream influence is evident in its easy-drinking texture, but mainly in its creamy aftertaste.

Handpull cask from the Blue Boar, Leicester. Dark brown with a loose and uneven khaki head. Smells of green coffee beans, vanilla, a touch of smoke and elderberry. Taste is a bit less bold, with the bitterness of the hop jarring against rather than complementing the sweet coffee flavours. And the body is far too thin. A neat concept, and an enjoyable beer. To be honest this probably works better on keg.

Keg @ Black Lodge Brewery, Liverpool. Black with a thick creamy-frothy head. It's crisp drinking with lightly floral dark malts and nothing about it gets too roasted. It has a sweetness.

Light haze on this gold beer, good fluffy cream colour head. Airy palate, very dry, reasonable fine carbonation.Thin dry malts, mildly sweet. Dry pithy bitter hop dust. Some floralness. Dry finish. Very dry and hop dusty. Really not very drinkable.

T42 Christmas Bottleshare. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Somewhat old dark malts, a little perfumey floralness sits awkwardly with the mild malt roast. Turns bitter in the mid, citrus emerges. Smooth finish. A little odd, but not awful.

Bottle shared on Level 42, Christmas tasting 18/12/2017. Many thanks! A jet black coloured pour with a loose mid tan creamy head. Aroam is woody roast, black farmyard malts, rustic, jammy fruits, ,dirty. Flavour is composed of tangy bitter black malts, tangy plum, rustic smoked malts, earthy, bark. Palate is medium bodied, moderate carboantion, . Nice rustic character.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Kenneth. Pours black-brown with a creamy, beige head. Ashy roast in the snout, burnt pine, cocoa. Light sweet flavour, really ashy, lots of tobacco, bitter cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Bone dry finish, lots of burnt grass, minerals, ash, tobacco. So so.
