GBBF Day 3. Cask. Light haze on this amber beer, tidy bubbly cream colour head. Smooth palate, good fine carbonation, very good condition. Smooth malts, light creamy sweetness. Sweet pine. Sweet orange peel. Trace of spice. Smooth finish. Quite sweet but drinkable.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2018. It pours clear brown with a bubbly white head. The aroma is sweet, oily, sappy, resinous, wood, spice, grass, orange marmalade and stewed peach. The taste is dry, good deal of bitterness, sappy, resinous, caramel, peppery spice, grassy, burnt toast, brown bread, light alcohol boost and rivita. Medium body and soft carbonation. Chewy and bitter. Not a classic APA... Alright.

On tap at Willimantic, pours a cloudy peachy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out tart plum pure upfront, with light lacto. Flavour is phenolic and sulfuric, with plum pure and lacto. This isn't working too well at all.

On tap at Willimantic, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with resinous hops, citrus notes and bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of resinous hops, some pine and citrus hops. Rich and balanced, with low residual sweetness. Excellent.

On tap at Willimantic, pours a hazy dull orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of lacto, with tart stone fruits. Flavour is very tart, with lots of acidic plums and peaches, and loads of lacto. Not overly complex or well-integrated but it's drinkable.

On tap at Willimantic, pours a hazy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out saison yeast, with red wine yeast, and some tannins. Flavour is very woody and tannic, with lots of red wine barrels, tannins, oak and light saison yeast. Moderately tart and heavily tannic. This is great.

On tap at Willimantic, pours a deep dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out earthy hops and bready caramel. Flavour is on the drier side despite looking very malt, with resinous hops, bready malt and toasted dry caramel. Lots of resins and dry bready malt. Very good.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a red to brown sort of color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Light lace.
The aroma centered around some caramel/toffee malts, some toast and some hints of honey. Slight earthiness on the back end.
The flavor was towards the sweet side with a subtle clean grassiness rolling over the malts in a nice way. Light honey in the aftertaste and a quick malty sort of finish.
The feel was between light and medium bodied with a nice sessionability about it. Nice smoothness along my tongue. ABV felt good.
Overall, pretty nice brown ale worthy of coming back to.

This one was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a ruddy brown color with a thin off white foamy head that dissipated at a level pace. Some lace.
The aroma had some roastiness, sweet rye, spicy rye and some citrusy bitter hops. Nuttiness is far underneath. Some earthiness.
The flavor brings the previously mentioned aromas together gently between the earthiness to the spiciness to the sweetness. I dig that blend, that’s really nice. Nicely blends all together on into the aftertaste and on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body. Good sessionability. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt appropriate. Spiciness is tamed by the brown ale malts.
Overall, all seems to be well with this one. Definitely one to come back to.
