Keg @ Birmingham Beer bash 2015. Pours black with tan head. Presents a touch of sour against dark grainy malts. Light and interesting.

Bottle. Nose is licorice, blackcurrant, very pronounced toast. Taste is metalllic, slightly sour, light licorice, very vinious, soy, the hops are not really there, what is left is a soapy lemon note. This is properly unpleasant. I’m very fond of Quantum but they periodically do properly rubbish beer and this is one.

Bottle. Nose is onion, onion ring crisps, corn, cereals, light lemon / citrus from the hops. Taste is onion, cereal, slight resin bitterness, more onion, herbal hops, more citrus. It’s a strange beer, with such a dominant onion note, but enjoyable none the less. The label is disgustingly ugly though and the books seems like a horrible internet meme.

Bottle from Beermoth, Northern Quarter, Manchester, consumed at home Sunday 3rd May 2015 Black in colour with a head that swiftly departed, though I never noted the colour of the head before it disappeared. It is roasty with a charred woody end. Interestingly it doesn’t taste like it’s 8.5%. A slightly tart dark berry flavour rings through, some ash, it’s fine. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Cask @ Soup Kitchen, Manchester. Black with next to no head. Slightly milky in its texture with a slightly complex aroma and taste - it has a burnt roasted malt that also has a sweetness attached to it that’s evident in both aspects.
