Description
Artisanally brewed in Amsterdam since 2011.

Combining influences from the rich European beer culture with a non-conformist attitude.

From a family heritage of Swedish farm brewers and trained by the masters of ale and porter in England, we ended up in the Netherlands to create our own microcosm in the world of beer.

Inspired by the lesser known sides of European brewing culture and devoted to uncommon artisanal techniques, Butcher's Tears makes distinctive beers that progress beyond fashion and convention.

Draft at Proeflokaal Gist 15 june 2022 after 8km 'Walk with the Boss'. On the terrace outside on a sunny day. Best moment for this Pilsener from one of the most decent Dutch breweries. Color: Hazy golden, white head. Taste: Malty and hoppy at the same time, hints of citrus, bit grainy and some straw. Medium body, average carbonation. Very nice and refreshing.

Bottled 15/04/2022. Pours a light hazy golden colour and a small soapy head with little retention. Aroma's: buttery/diacetyl and a bit fruity. Retronasal: fruity, your typical BT yeast and butter. Flavour is light sweet, light bitter. Light bodied. Low carbonation (as expected when pouring). Buttery and bitter finish. Nice Kellerbier???

Hoppy lager more like it. But well made, has the brewery dank funk to it. Fine enough beer. Butcher tap ams

11 April 2022. At Volkshotel, Amsterdam. Cheers to the Teamleader crew!

Clear golden, small, foamy, white head. Aroma of pineapple, lychee, lime zest, citrus flesh, bread. Taste has sweetish pineapple & lychee; flowery & zesty notes around, softly bread-malty. Foral hoppy finish with perfumey citrus, slightly bitter. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Very pleasant at this ABV.

Bottle. Color: Hazy pale golden, very thin white head. Aroma: Herbal, spicy. Taste: Malty, herbal and spicy Gale. Slightly tart. Floral. Moderate to over moderate sweet, moderate bitterness going to over medium at the very dry, astringent finish. Medium body, low carbonation. Unusual with a historical twist, as expected from a collab of these two great breweries.
