Description
Artisanally brewed in Amsterdam since 2011.
Combining influences from the rich European beer culture with a non-conformist attitude.
From a family heritage of Swedish farm brewers and trained by the masters of ale and porter in England, we ended up in the Netherlands to create our own microcosm in the world of beer.
Inspired by the lesser known sides of European brewing culture and devoted to uncommon artisanal techniques, Butcher's Tears makes distinctive beers that progress beyond fashion and convention.

Forholdvis pålitelige notater fra en travel dag på The Great British Beer Festival, London 02.08.22: lett uklar gylden, fint skum som varer. Litt aroma og smak av røykmalt balanseres av den fine citrussmaken.

2 July 2022. At Dok Brewing Festival. Cheers to Anke, Eugène & Evelien!
Clear orange, thin, off-white head. Aroma of biscuit, orange peel, apricot, straw, juniper, brioche. Taste has sweetish plum & apricot, sourish citrus; wheaty malt base supporting grassy, spicy & herbal notes. Grassy hoppy finish, perfumey juniper popping up, somewhat acidic. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Works well, not too bad.

GBBF Day 2. Bottle. A light haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, slightly soft and slightly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a decent creamy sweetness. A mellow smoke, very mellow. Decent floral fruits on the back end, floral and a little floral peachy. Light semi dry finish.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 8 May 2022) Cloudy yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, spicy nose with citrus, bread, dough and a touch of sweet gale. Fruity, spicy taste with notes of citrus, lemon, bread, yeast, gale and a mild bittersweet finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Interesting, spicy and quite tasty. Quite enjoyable.
