Description
Artisanally brewed in Amsterdam since 2011.
Combining influences from the rich European beer culture with a non-conformist attitude.
From a family heritage of Swedish farm brewers and trained by the masters of ale and porter in England, we ended up in the Netherlands to create our own microcosm in the world of beer.
Inspired by the lesser known sides of European brewing culture and devoted to uncommon artisanal techniques, Butcher's Tears makes distinctive beers that progress beyond fashion and convention.

Bottle. Bit hazy mahogany with tan head. Licorice, cognac, French oak, dusty dry leather, tobacco, raisins, caramel, brown sugar, plums. Over medium sweet, medium bitter and a touch of sourness. Almost full body with dry finish. Lots of stuff going on here, lovely beer.

Aroma of fruits, spices, light hops, lots of malts. Flavour is pretty sweet and spicy. Quite a full body. This is like a very heavy Saison. Interesting, but I’m not too crazy about this one.

Aroma of malts, citrus, yeast, aromatic hops, light spices. Flavour is fruity and hoppy, some malty sweetness and a dry bitter finish. Carbonation is a bit too high for its own good.

Aroma of malts, light fruits and earthy hops. Flavour is light sweet and moderate bitter. A bit thin-bodied, but not too detrimental for the overall experience.

Aroma of dark malts, caramel, ripe dark fruits, candy sugar, yeast, light chocolate. Flavour is quite sweet, a bit too sugary for my taste. Still, the aroma makes up for it, at least partially.

Aroma of citrus, orange peel, soft malt, spicy notes, floral, peppery yeast, hops. Flavour is light sweet with a medium bitter finish. Nicely well-rounded. I liked LCH II a bit better, but this is another really tasty and refined Condition Humaine.
